Title: It’s never failed. I like everything about it. 5/5
Review: It just works. This Anker SD Card Adapter is great especially if you’re using USB-A ports. I’ve never had a single issue with this. It does what it says. Copies files to/from devices and Reads/Writes like a champ. I copy a lot of files from my DAW (Desktop) to my Laptop workstation. I do Custom Battle Records in Soundforge Pro and drop them into my Serato DJ Pro library with this SD Card Adapter. When I finish one or more sample chop, Battle Record masterpieces I put the Wav file(s) onto an SD Card with this adapter plugged into my DAW (Desktop) Then eject the adapter and plug it into my Laptop. It works like a thumb drive but for SD cards. It only takes a few seconds to copy a few gigabytes of Wav files. I pick the crate I want to use & drop the new Wav files into my Serato DJ Pro software Plug the cable back into the laptop from my Pioneer DJM DJ mixer and click analyze inside the Serato software. Now the software sees the new file(s) and analyzes the various parameters. File Name, BPM, Length, Bit rate etc. For those of you who use this software remember to put your files in the music folder on your main internal/OS drive for best performance. It provides the quickest round trip, point A to point B. Basically once I have the files I want to copy, that whole process take about 5 min or less. The Anker might not be the best SD Card reader/writer you can buy. The SanDisk Professional SD Card Reader probably takes that spot but if you need a reliable portable SD Card Reader/Writer that does what it’s supposed to without any hassle. Anker makes one of the best I’ve ever used. I plan on getting a portable usb-c Card Adapter as well, because usb-c is so ubiquitous, and the standard protocol. That said, I’ve had the Anker SD card adapter for over a year and I’ll probably be using it for many more. I didn’t know what to expect in terms of compatibility, ease of use and reliability when I got this. But the Anker SD Card Adapter exceeded my expectations. I produce music for a living. I need the things I use for that to not only work but help save time I use SD cards in my MPC. So I use this for that too. This might be a small device but it plays a surprisingly large role in my everyday workflow More than I expected it to when I bought it. But regardless of how you plan to using this to copy and transfer files, whatever the scenario as long as you’re careful, it may be portable but it’s still plastic it should remain a reliable SD card adapter for years. Connectivity is straight forward. In terms of heat it gets warm but usually not hot while in use. The card slots all function properly and easy to use. Again, think of this like a thumb drive for SD cards. It’s Small but still capable of big jobs. The materials used on plastic with a metal/aluminum USB port as you’d expect. I’ve used this 100 times and it’s never failed. I like everything about it, you probably will too. 5/5

Title: Versatility in such a small package!
Review: The Anker Uspeed USB 3.0 Card Reader is an interesting device in that it allows for a wide range of SD cards to be read, without taking up much space as opposed to a larger, wired SD Card Reader.”What does it do?”This small, unimposing device has two “sides”: the side that plugs into a USB port of your choosing, and the side you insert an SD card into. Once plugged into your computer and equipped with an SD card, the device acts as an incredibly versatile USB drive, giving you the ability to format said SD card as well as read and write data on it as you would any other drive worth its salt.”What types of SD cards are supported?”According to the item Description, the following cards are supported: SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC, RS-MMC, Micro SDXC, Micro SD and Micro SDHC.PLEASE NOTE: In order to use the Mini SD variant, you need an adapter that is sold separately.”What is this UHS-I?”UHS-I stands for Ultra High Speed, and the I means Speed Class 1.”What does this have to do with anything?”Some SDHC and SDXC cards support transfer speeds of up to 104 Megabytes per second (MB/S). When a card is rated for UHS-I speeds, it can take advantage of these transfer rates. Please note that not all cards support UHS-I.”Are there any special features of the Anker Uspeed USB 3.0 Card Reader I should know about?”As the title of the device points out, this is compatible with USB 3.0 ports. This port is the most recent update to the USB architecture at the time of writing, which allows for users to transfer data at relatively high speeds, and is a necessity to take full advantage of UHS-I rated SD cards.”How can I tell if I have a USB 3.0 port?”Usually USB 3.0 ports are blue, but I do not know if port colors are industry wide or not.Side note: There are plans to update the USB 3.0 architecture to support speeds up to 10 Gigabits per second (Gb/S). This means that sometime in 2013, USB 3.0 ports could be made to support transfer speeds up to 1.25 Gigabytes per second (GB/S)(1 byte (B) = 8 bits (b). So, 10Gb divided by 8 makes 1.25GB.”Is there any more technical information I should know?”There is no need to install any drivers. Your operating system of choice should be able to detect this as a standard USB Card Reader. However, the packaging only mentions working on Windows and Macintosh platforms. No word on if it works with Linux or not.”Why give it five stars?”The quality of the product is extremely high, it doesn’t feel cheap, it is easy to use, doesn’t get unbearably hot during heavy use, and it has no problem detecting a moderately wide range of cards for how small it is.The only complaint I have about this is that the reader does take up a little room, which is to be expected. Unfortunately, it make it hard to plug in another device to an adjacent USB port, but this is something that can be easily rectified. In fact, I could have fixed this situation in the time it took me to write this section!”What card did you use this on?”I used a SanDisk SDHC 32GB with a transfer rate of 5.3 MB/S on a USB 2.0 slot.”What comes in the package?”1 USB Card Reader2 Interchangeable lids (can be used on both ends)”Any final words?”Considering I have never bought an SD card reader before, it looks like I won’t have to buy another for a long, long time.”Is there any Engrish?”Towards the bottom of the packaging on the backside, you will see the following:”Visit (website) for more information and the latest product.”Product as opposed to products? How about…”Please visit (website) for the latest information from your friends at Anker!”… or something similar.Closing comments:I’m honestly interested in seeing what Anker does from here. If they keep this up, they just might be a force to recon with.I hope this review proves to be helpful, and just let me know if I need to update or fix anything, or if I need to add any additional information. Thanks!

Title: Lasted About 2 Years before Becoming Unreliable
Review: I picked one of these up about 2 years ago. It worked well at first. Over the winter I was traveling and tried transferring some files. It would transfer some data and then hit an unexpected error and cancel the operation.I decided to buy another one because it is a good price and copied files relatively quickly while it did work. I’ve had a lot of these things over the years and they all tend to stop working in one way or another after a couple of years. This one is pretty good.

Title: Just what I needed
Review: I don’t use SD or MicroSD cards all that often, but my GoPro does have a MicroSD card and that is why I bought this. I love that it is compact, just a little fatter than a USB thumb drive. I just leave it plugged into my USB hub and insert the card as needed.I have used a few MicroSD cards in it and haven’t had an issue. I don’t use regular SD cards, so I can say anything about that. It works very well for MicroSD cards. I have had no issues reading the card and Windows recognizes the cards right away.

Review: Works on Linux, Windows too. Its plug and play each alot appears as a separate drive. No issues with compatibility on different micro sds or regular sd cards. WONT FALL APART EASY. Other cheaper brands literally snap in half and dont feel sturdy this feels very sturdy.Get this, reputable brand my work would pretty often get from.

Review: The card reader works like a charm. It is a valid usb 3.0 card reader. Speeds are good. But there might be slow speeds of read/write if the memory card itself isn’t fast as a usb 3.0 port. So don’t be confused by it. Check your card’s performance class .I would like to point out a very minor but critical design flaw. There are two slots. One for microSD and the other for normal SD. But there’s isn’t any small symbol showing how the card should be inserted. I had to peek inside the slot with a torch to see the edges and how they fit on which side of the card (obviously the side where contact points are.) Any SD card has some edges and one slightly flattened corner. This was really confusing. So be careful not to insert the card with force . It might damage the slot.

Review: EXPECTATIONSThe SD card slot in my computer doesn’t work (and regardless, very slow) and I’ve been in need of a fast, reliable and compact SD card reader. From initial use, this card reader has definitely met my expectations; worked flawlessly.PROS✓ Compact -> This reader does not take any more space than it needs too and does the job better than any other reader I have ever owned. The SD slot and Micro SD slot are far enough apart where you can use both of them at once. Although the adapter IS thick to the point where I can’t use the adjacent USB plug, it is 100% expected considering the size of SD cards. I am often carrying a lot of stuff on me and having much bigger card readers on me just isn’t practical. However, at the end of the day for the performance that it puts out, the size is awesome.✓ Anker Brand (Amazing Quality) -> Anker has quickly become one of my favourite brands and I would almost always spend an extra $10 on something just because it’s Anker brand… their products are always amazing quality and their customer service is exceptional. If you’re looking for a card reader that will last you a very long time, than Anker is the brand for you.✓ Micro SD slot -> Even though I don’t use Micro SD very often at all, the fact that they made room for one is great. If you have a phone or any device that uses micro SD, you will not have to purchase an SD Micro SD adapter in order to use it in this device. Please note that if you are using this for a Mini SD, you will need to purchase an adapter in order to use it with this adapter.✓ No Drivers -> Drivers are a pain, mainly because it means you can’t use this device right out of the box. This reader however, doesn’t require any drivers (For Windows 7/8/10 or Mac OSX 10.2).✓ 18 Month Warranty -> Honestly even though you probably won’t need it, if you do get a faulty product, Anker would be more than willing to replace it “hassle-free” which I imagine means no questions asked.✓ Fast data transfer (USB 3.0) -> In the world of USB, USB 3.0 is roughly 10 times as fast as USB 2.0. If you do not own a computer that has 3.0 ports, this device is backwards compatible and will still utilise the fastest speed available in that USB 2.0 connection.CONS✘ Width -> As mentioned earlier, the only issue with this reader, in particular, is the fact that the width makes it hard to use adjacent USB ports (considering your ports are relatively close together). If this is going to be a deal breaker for you for any reason, I would recommend picking up a USB Male to USB female (basically a USB extension cord) in order to use the adjacent ports.FINAL THOUGHTS This is definitely one of the if not the highest quality SD card adapter that you will find on the market. Although it is up there with the most expensive adapters, if you want an adapter that is both FAST and DURABLE than I highly recommend that you spend the extra money.RATING☆Quality ★★★★★ [5]Design ★★★★☆ [4]Reliability ★★★★★ [5]Ease of Use ★★★★★ [5]Speed ★★★★★ [5]FINAL SCORE ★★★★★ [5] – Highly Recommended!
