Usyk won the first meeting with Dubois via ninth-round KO. However, there was controversy after the fight. During the fifth round, Dubois landed what looked to be a clean body shot on Usyk’s belt line.

It dropped the Ukrainian champion, but the punch was ruled to be a low blow. While Dubois didn’t get a point deducted, Usyk did stay on the canvas for more than four minutes to gather himself before resuming the fight.

He ultimately waltzed to a victory, stopping Dubois in the ninth round, but many wonder what might have been—and if that punch was truly a low blow.
