Please look up artificial turf/grass dog litter box. It is like a litter box for a cat with a fake grass platform on the top. The pee drips into the box and the poo is easily picked up from the grass area. The grass is usually antimicrobial so it can easily be rinsed clean. You can use the set together or only use the top piece within your shower area (that Cypher is allowed to go potty at). You simply set it over the drain and all the pee will just go down the drain. Pick up the poo and then turn the shower on for a minute to rinse out the grass.
I think this could be your indoor solution. It worked for our chihuahuas when they were too young to go in the yard. (We have 3 acres in woods that we have seen copperhead snakes, cougars, bears, rattlesnakes, etc… so I understand the concern and need for a different solution.)
