I do enjoy the concept of a Dyson sphere, but as per above and to my understanding, there isn't enough material, let alone useful material in the Solar System to construct anything on the scale shown in Next Generation. Probably a stupid thought and entirely theoretical, but if we cleaned up the space trash we've vomited up there, and could reorganize its constituent parts, would it be possible to make the primitive beginnings of such a structure? I have a question for you all. I understand what they mean by a Dyson sphere. When we use solar panels they're connected to cables into batteries at power homes or to power plants that power cities. So how will the power from a Dyson sphere be sent back to Earth to be used?
