Nvidia’s RTX 50 Super series refresh may arrive earlier than initially expected, with the latest rumors pointing to a launch before this year’s holiday season. This range of updated Blackwell GPUs is expected to come with greater VRAM quantities, leveraging a newer 3GB memory chip design and enhancing CUDA core counts and boost clocks.
Most of Nvidia’s recent graphics cards have relaunched midway through their cycle with a “Super” moniker attached. These refresh variants tend to come with greater overall performance, thanks to a refinement of the production process and tighter binning. While the Super version of the RTX 50 series cards were originally expected sometime in 2026 (likely with a CES 2026 unveiling), it now looks like they may be available before the end of the year.
Tweaktown is citing unnamed sources who believe a holiday 2025 release is now the most likely, with the cards being unveiled sometime in Q4. That could mean we get our first glimpse of these updated Blackwell GPUs as soon as October, though it also leaves the door open for November and December debuts, with a shorter turnaround time for an official launch.

Nvidia hasn’t officially announced the RTX 50 Super series GPUs yet, but we do have some rumored specifications. The RTX 5080 Super will allegedly have the same CUDA core counts as its predecessor, but will have 50% more memory at 24 GB, and a higher 415W TDP. The RTX 5070 Ti Super is also alleged to have a significant memory uplift to 24 GB with a new 350W TDP. The RTX 5070 Super could get the biggest percentage uplift in performance, though, as it gets 50% more memory at 18GB, but may also get a few hundred extra CUDA cores. But its TDP will only rise by 25W, according to the latest rumors (via VideoCardz).
Considering one of the major criticisms of Nvidia’s latest generation was limited VRAM compared to some of the demands of modern games, this would go a long way to fixing that. However, these cards would still be more expensive than the GPUs most gamers are using at this time, with the most popular GPUs on Steam being xx60 series-equivalent and weaker options.
Previous Super card launches have taken place over a year after the release of their namesake cards, so this would represent a fast turnaround for Nvidia. That said, considering the muted response to its RTX 50 graphics cards, it’s possible Nvidia is looking to fix the issues with these cards and provide stiffer competition for AMD to combat its extremely popular RX 9000-series GPUs.
