Review: Wow! For the price this is great. I had previously bought an adapter for the same price and tried using it at this same charger you seen in my video and didn’t work. First try and it worked and and every other Tesla charger I’ve used worked(5). I like how it’s a little heavy, it just feels like quality and not cheap. I would highly recommend. I even have an older model Nissan leaf. It’s a 2013 and this adapter has worked every time. It fits in my glove box or center console and the look the feel and ease of use amazing. Like I said the I have an older car and it’s compatible with mine so I definitely see it working with newer cars. I got this because of the compatibility. Get this, you won’t be disappointed. I know I wasn’t.

Title: Super happy with purchase
Review: This thing will handle 80 amps and seems built really well. I have 3 of these now, got last 2 off warehouse. Why anyone would return is beyond me. I have another brand and it’s no where close to this one. It’s super heavy and I’ve fed 48 amps through it, and it doesn’t heat up, nothing but does the job. I don’t use the plastic ring it comes with in most cases. But I’m not scared to throw a 5 star at this one.

Title: Working seamlessly with my Tesla charger
Review: It takes about 8-9 hours to fully charge My Lexus NX450H+ using level 1 charger. Now it takes about 3 hours when I use the adapter with my Tesla level 2 charger. Much faster.

Title: Tesla->J1772 (Charging a non-Tesla), read for information on where this works
Review: There are two types of adapter under this listing, and I have the one that allows you to convert a Tesla connector to J1772 for charging a non-Tesla EV. I used this on a Chevy Bolt EUV.First, it’s important to know where this will work, as it doesn’t work on all Tesla chargers. This is not a fault in the product, just a fact of how Tesla’s chargers work.This works on (most) Level 2 Tesla chargers, also known as “destination chargers”. It will NOT work on Tesla Superchargers. Those are DC fast chargers, and with a few exceptions, those are Tesla only. If you recently heard about Tesla opening up their Supercharger network to other makes, know that it requires a special car specific adapter, and in most cases that is not available yet. The chargers this is designed for are commonly found at hotels and other businesses where people are likely to charge for hours at a time, hence “destination chargers”.Of the Tesla destination chargers, there are 3 generations. Even though it should work with all three, there are cases where it will not. There are some settings on the Gen 2 and Gen 3 chargers that can cause J1772 cars to not be able to charge. Gen 3 chargers can also have access control or be set up for billing, both of which may prevent this from working. You also may need to wait 30 seconds before connecting it to your car, which the adapter reminds you about via a sticker on it.In short, it can be tough to tell if a particular Tesla charger will work without trying it. I tried several Gen 3 chargers near me, and only one was configured to work with non-Tesla vehicles. I had no issues using this adapter with that charger.As for the adapter itself, I have no major complaints. It has some heft and feels well made – not cheap at all. It connected easily to both my car and the Tesla plugs I tried, and once I found a compatible charger, my car had no issues starting a charge. The lock switch is a tad confusing, as the word shown is the action the switch performs instead of the state it’s in. So when you see “Lock” that means if you slide the switch it will lock, not that it is locked.The included case is handy for keeping it safe while it’s stored in your trunk, but is nothing fancy. If you need extra padding, the box it came in has an excellent foam cutout for it.In short, this is less expensive than a lot of others out there, but doesn’t feel like it. Title: Maybe I got a defective one
Review: Returned due to I plugged it in and woke up the next morning my car wasn’t charged. It would say charging then stop charging all on its own. I’m guessing it was defective.

Title: Check compatibility
Review: I was really excited to get this item. We own a Nissan Leaf, but our community is full of Tesla charging stations. An adapter would be perfect and allow us more options and locations for charging away from home. I checked to make sure that this adapter would be compatible, and as far as I could tell, it was supposed to be the right kind. Unfortunately, it was unable to charge my car at the station. I am unable to tell whether it’s because the item is at fault or if it is simply not compatible with my Leaf. I would recommend that anyone looking to purchase this item do lots more research than I did.
