After a whole lot of blowback about the return of Rush mode in the Battlefield 6 beta, DICE has read the room and decided to roll out a number of changes to the mode. No, it’s not going to Locked Weapons, but it is fixing a few issues that players have been complaining about. Here’s the list:
- The MCOM timer is now reduced from 45 to 30 seconds which is supposed to create better balance between attackers and defenders.
- Defender timers in Rush are fixed at 12 seconds rather than 6-12 previously.
- That last change also applies to Breakthrough, and in that mode, it now requires fewer players to speed up capture there.
These changes are being well-received so far, albeit there are certainly plenty more complaints here, including the fact that it’s limited to 12v12, which is not some sort of switch that’s simply going to be flipped, as the mode is currently balanced (well, sort of) around that playercount. If that changes, it would be a longer-term project.
There are other technical issues here that have been brought up by DICE since the beta launched. Namely, an issue with DLSS and DLAA where players do not see those. They do not have an ETA for a fix on that, and the last update was 14 hours ago which simply says they’re continuing to work on it. Given all the updates they keep giving, I would expect that is probably going to be fixed fairly soon.
Battlefield 6 rode a wave of hugely positive sentiment from its reveal videos to the first beta. Players are enjoying the second beta and numbers are good, but it’s clear that there are more issues and complaints this time around, largely centered around Rush issues and also its current use of Open Weapons.

It remains to be seen what the takeaway will be from the second weekend, and what other changes DICE may roll out here, but there’s only so much time left. There is, however, a good amount of time left until October launch, and post-launch, obviously, there are going to be loads of fixes and changes based on feedback. For now, we’ll see how these changes play out, and they are live now.
