Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite this week as a replacement for the Tab S6 Lite – a slate so successful that it was re-released twice. Still, it was time to move on and this is the new lower-end/mid-range tablet – it sits between Tab A and Tab S FE models. The company will announce new flagship tablets next week, but for now let’s focus on the Lite.
Normally, it costs £350 for the base 6/128GB model and £400 for the 8/256GB upgrade with more RAM and storage (note: there is a microSD card slot). However, Amazon offers a £50 discount at checkout.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite is powered by the Exynos 1380 and has a 10.9” LCD with 90Hz refresh rate. The battery is on the small side with 8,000mAh capacity and it supports relatively slow 25W charging (a full charge takes 2 hours). There’s no DeX, but it does support a stylus. The Tab S10 Lite will receive major OS updates for 7 years (it comes with Android 15/One UI 7 out of the box).
While they are not meant to be competing directly, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE is fairly close in price. It has a newer chipset (Exynos 1580) and a better quality 10.9” 90Hz IPS LCD panel (1440p+ vs. 1320p+). The battery capacity is the same, but at least you get faster 45W charging. The FE is rated IP68, which means you can use it at the beach or by the pool.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) had a good run, but this is the end of the line. This slate has a 10.4” display (60Hz) and runs on the older Exynos 1280 chipset. Limited RAM – only 4GB! – caused the chip to really struggle. It’s cheap, just £210 for a 4/128GB model, but you may be better off waiting for bigger discounts on the Tab S10 Lite (and they will come).
That’s enough about tablets. The Poco F7 Ultra continues to slide downwards in price – the 12/256GB model costs the same as it did at the start of the month, but the 16/512GB version is now £60 less. This is a lot of phone for under £600 – you get a Snapdragon 8 Elite, a 50MP 2.5x/60mm tele camera and a fast 5,300mAh battery with 120W charging.
The Nothing Phone (3a) Pro is without a discount currently, but it does come with a free pair of Nothing Ear (a) buds, which match the phone’s transparent style. This model has a 6.77” 1080p+ 120Hz OLED display, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and a 5,000mAh battery with 50W charging. The camera setup is interesting with a 50MP main (1/1.56”, OIS), a 50MP 3x/70mm periscope (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide, plus a 50MP selfie camera.
While it’s past its prime, the Nothing Phone (2a) offers good value at £200. It pairs a 6.7” 1080p+ 120Hz OLED display with a Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset. It has a 50MP main camera (1/1.56”, OIS) and a 50MP ultra-wide, plus a 32MP selfie cam. The 5,000mAh battery supports 45W charging.
For a bit less, you can have the Poco X7 – this one has an even better 6.67” 1220p+ 12-bit 120Hz OLED display but a weaker Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset. It’s comparable to the 7200 Pro, though its GPU is a bit weaker. Anyway, the 50MP main (1/1.95”, OIS) is paired with only an 8MP ultra-wide and a 20MP selfie camera. The 5,110mAh battery also does 45W charging.
You can also grab the Poco X7 Pro – with 256GB storage, it costs less than the Nothing Phone (2a). The Dimensity 8400 Ultra easily beats the 7000-series chips in the two phones above. The faster UFS 4.0 storage helps too. The Pro also packs a larger 6,000mAh battery with double the charge rate, 90W. You don’t get a camera upgrade, however.
