What's with the downvotes?
Trying to get a copy of this game… 4 years old… and it's still £30!
Something not really mentioned in this review would be the games horrible controls. (Probably tied with Mario 64 DS, in controls that just dont make sense.)
The game tries very hard to force most of your directional inputs, into being 4 primary directions, with very small windows for the next 4 (diagonals)
It sort of feels like pokemon.
But at every given moment you NEED it to do this for you, suddenly it allows you to use every possible angle you werent able to hit before.
(most noticably with the tanuki suit, as holding A down changes the direction you are moving, but locks back into 4 way directions the moment u let go of A.)
Good game, but its bad/ever changing controls, and the fact that ive you have ever played a mario game before, be ready to find yourself jumping 50% shorter distances, and 50% less higher (which really throws off your preplanned jumps)
The Movie
OMG ..Mario is not wearing cap!
Check out my 2ds gameplay on super mario 3d land
like nintendo
shitty underage kidshow graphics the 8bit version look tough in comparison.
Great review
Mario XD
Do you have to have a Wii U to play, or is it only usable for the Wii U? Super Mario Bros. Wii U didn't require a Wii U, so I was curious.
Funny that the "weird angles" they showed was not weird at all.
As in it was too easy I'm guessing? (I haven't played it)
Me neither. This game for me was very disappointing. It lacked the creativity, difficulty and length set by previous 3D Mario games such as 64, Sunshine and Galaxy 1 & 2. Never once did I genuinely feel that it was hard, and just when a level got interesting, the flagpole appears. Towards the end you can tell that the developers were desperately chucking cosmic mario and time in effort to make it harder. Took me under 10 hours to 100% the entire game, including S Worlds.
Both!

Why so many dislikes? THis ame was amazing!
Well, weren't you right on the mark?
I didn't like this game….
Nah, get 3D Land. Fallord Vladimus doesn't know what he's talking about.
3D Land is a MUCH better game. Much more entertaining, and way more creative. NSMB 2 is quite bland, and quite dull.
U I'll l MORMONISM
New Super Mario Bros 2. 3D Land is good, but gets annoying after a while.
0:50 Mario got a new note!
lolz
Absolutely loved this game. Really wish there would be more Mario games like this that have both creativity AND originality as its predecessors, on the SNES and NES, once did, unlike the NSMB series.
I really liked the story, too, albeit being the same damn scenario, I liked that enemies got power-ups and hope in 3D Land 2 (make it happen, Nintendo, as awkward as your naming for games may be) and give more enemies varied power-ups! I want to see Fire Flower using Hammer Bros. or something.
overall 9.8 imo.
This game was incredibly easy.
It's Mario, not Murio!
FALSE!
How many spoilers!?
