6 announcements we want to see at IFA 2025

According to the leaked renders and specs, the Go 2 is expected to feature a design similar to the Go S, with more ergonomic, curved sides compared to the original Go’s boxy body. However, the Go 2 is set to include the same detachable controller, OLED display and other gaming-focused features as its predecessor.

As such, this full-fat Nintendo Switch 2 competitor should be one to watch with great interest – especially with an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme chipset rumoured to be under the hood. 

Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra

Samsung has officially revealed plans for a virtual Unpacked event scheduled for 4 September, and leaks suggest we’re about to see updates to the top-end Galaxy Tab range.

More specifically, leaker Evan Blass – also known as EVLeaks on X – posted (in a now-deleted tweet) what’s claimed to be official promotional materials for the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, accompanied by the hashtag #galaxyunpacked. This suggests that we’re about to see the grand unveiling of the top-end 2025 tablet.

Going by the leaked press images, it seems that this year’s Ultra tablet will sport thinner bezels and what looks to be a smaller front-facing camera notch – although it otherwise resembles last year’s Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. Still, with rumoured upgrades in the performance department, this year’s tablet should offer a much more capable day-to-day experience.  

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE

The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra isn’t the only product Samsung is rumoured to be announcing at Galaxy Unpacked on 4th September. 

Alongside press images of the Tab S11 Ultra, EVLeaks shared promo images for what appears to be the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 FE. The FE, or ‘Fan Edition’, has been a longstanding tradition from Samsung, offering a similarly flagship experience to the top-end Galaxy S phones at a more affordable price. 

That trend appears to continue with this year’s model, based on the press renders. It appears to be a very similar-looking device to the Samsung Galaxy S25, with similarly slim bezels and the new (and slightly controversial) camera rings on the triple-camera rear setup. 

Rumours paint a picture of a fairly solid smartphone with a top-end 6.7-inch AMOLED screen and a 120Hz refresh rate, an Exynos 2400 chipset, 8GB of RAM and a familiar triple camera setup on the rear – it just depends on the all-important pricing. 

AI-powered Eufy and Soundcore upgrades

Anker is set to host an event on the IFA show floor where it has teased the reveal of both new AI smarts and new hardware under its Anker, Eufy, and Soundcore sub-brands. 

AI is the buzzword in tech in 2025, and it looks like it might be about to make its debut in the smart home scene. 

Anker is rumoured to be working on an upgraded Eufy robot vacuum with AI-powered object detection and avoidance for more efficient mapping and navigation. Whispers also suggest that similar AI smarts could appear in Eufy cameras, with enhanced AI facial recognition and package detection capabilities. 

Given the confirmed presence of Dolby’s Javier Foncillas at the show, we can also expect audio products under the Soundcore brand. More specifically, rumours point towards a new pair of flagship Soundcore Liberty earbuds with Dolby Atmos support, AI-powered adaptive EQ, noise cancellation and more. 

Samsung’s AI-powered smart home tech 

Eufy isn’t the only brand looking to capitalise on the AI wave in the smart home; Samsung is hosting a separate IFA press conference dubbed “AI Home: Future Living, Now” that’s expected to focus on new AI-powered home tech. 

Samsung itself has confirmed that it’ll “highlight the transformative potential of AI in the home” at the event – though not much else has been confirmed just yet. 

Of course, we saw a preview of how AI could play a role in the smart home with the reveal of Samsung’s Bespoke AI home appliance range shown off at CES 2025, so it’s possible that we could see new entries to the product line.

We’re also hopeful that Samsung will confirm when exactly we’ll be able to get our hands on its fun Ballie robot. The company claimed at CES 2025 that the robot would be released in the first half of 2025, though we’ve yet to see its release, so an IFA reveal would make a lot of sense. 

A suite of concept devices

Of course, it wouldn’t be IFA without a whole range of concept devices – and going by the weird and wonderful tech we saw at last year’s show, this year’s conference should be particularly interesting.

That’s especially true of manufacturers like Lenovo and Asus; the two brands bring new concepts to the show every year. Last year, Asus revealed Project DualPlay – a laptop with a detachable game controller – while Lenovo showcased its Auto Twist concept that can swivel with nothing more than your voice. 

Leaker Evan Blass has shared images of what looks like a new Lenovo concept laptop with a display that can be used in both landscape and portrait orientations – and we’re expecting much the same from other brands present at the show.
