4D1 launches T2 for rugged, millimeter-level 3D indoor positioning

As more robots enter factories, warehouses, and other facilities, accurate orientation is increasingly important for reliable operations and safe navigation. 4D1 today launched T2, which it claimed provides millimeter-level 3D positioning for factories and process-centric industries.

“Traditional indoor positioning systems and robotics solutions struggle with accuracy, drift, and are too bulky for worker use, limiting automation,” stated Doug Langen, CEO of 4D1. “T2 delivers drift-free, 6DoF [degree of freedom] positioning combined with AI-ready data, enabling humans and machines to collaborate instantly and seamlessly.”

4D1 said it extends true autonomy indoors through precision positioning, enabling AI-driven process optimization and digital twins.
