Huawei MatePad 12 X 2025 goes official with PaperMatte display

Huawei has unveiled the new MatePad 12 X 2025 tablet with the familiar PaperMatte Display and upgraded specs.

The tablet features a 12-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2800 × 1840 pixels, up to 1,000 nits of brightness, an adaptive refresh rate of up to 144Hz, and HDR Vivid support. It also comes with Huawei’s PaperMatte coating, designed to reduce glare and mimic the texture of paper.

According to Huawei, the PaperMatte display helps minimize eye strain and improves readability, even in outdoor conditions. It also supports stylus input including the Huawei M-Pencil Pro.

The MatePad 12 X 2025 is equipped with the Kirin T92B chipset, which is paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It also has a 3D vapor chamber for improved heat dissipation. The tablet runs HarmonyOS 4.3 out-of-the-box.

You’ll find a 50 MP camera at the back with an LED flash and an 8 MP sensor at the front for video calling. It gets six speakers and dual microphones.

The tablet packs a 10,100 mAh battery with support for up to 66W fast charging. For connectivity, there’s dual-band Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.2.

Huawei MatePad 12 X 2025 weighs 555g and is 5.9mm thin. It is available in Green and White color options. The tablet is priced at £599 for the sole 12GB/256GB Wi-Fi-only variant.
