Since the automaker is now opening up to other brands, and with new vehicles like the Cybertruck right around the corner, these V4 Superchargers appear to be rolling out at just the right time.
The new chargers feature a more minimalist design than before, even with the new card readers, but also feature a longer charge cable for more versatility. The new chargers will be able to charge vehicles of all kinds, meaning they may have something similar to the Magic Dock that’s been popping up on V3 chargers around the country until other automakers officially switch to the North American Charging Standard (NACS) from the Combined Charging System (CCS).
We’ve seen reports from users that V4 Superchargers built in Europe are capable of 1000V and 615A, meaning they can produce up to 600 kW, but these unfounded rumors are aspirational numbers at best, since no current EVs can charge at those rates.
