One of the first-ever Tesla Cybertruck pickups was recently sold at the 29th Petersen Museum Auction Gala for $400,000.
Tesla fan Greggertruck shared a clip of the auction, which shows some rather spirited bidding going on. In the short video, the auctioneer can be heard taking bids, which was at $280,000 at the time. Clearly, some attendees were overly excited at the prospect of owning a Cybertruck, with one bidder’s paddle being ripped out of his hand mid-auction.
While $400,000 is way more than the Cybertruck will cost when it arrives, we’re surprised the electric truck didn’t attract a higher sale price. It’s easily one of the most anticipated vehicles in recent years, with reservations totaling nearly two million in July.
Then again, the Cybertruck sold at the Petersen Museum Auction isn’t the first-ever production model with VIN 001.
