The team followed the Baja Peninsula route down to Mexico and were nearing Cabo San Lucas at the time of the recording. Over the 1,280-mile journey, the Cybertrucks were subjected to various terrains, such as deserts, rocks, mountains, and even a salt flat.
While the video feed is grainy, the electric pickups take everything in their stride. The lead vehicle quickly skips over the lumpy, dust-covered roads and seems to cope well on rough surfaces. “These trucks are hardcore, they’re super fun [and] super durable. The only issues we’ve had are two flat tires,” said the driver. “The ability of these trucks is super impressive.” While that sounds promising, we will reserve judgment until we experience the Cybertruck ourselves.
We sincerely hope Tesla has got the Cybertruck right. An earlier report claimed pre-production models were riddled with problems, from suspension faults to build quality issues.
