As for its hefty weight, we don’t think anyone is surprised. It’s no secret all of the electric pickups coming out these days are in serious need of diets, but we’re a few years away from that being a reality. We assume that with the Cybertruck the Dual-Motor drivetrain will sit in the 8-9,000 lbs category and the Tri-Motor will sit in the 9-10,000 lbs one, but that’s not guaranteed. It’s possible you’ll be able to move up and down a category with different battery and wheel options.
Sizewise, we expect the truck to come in longer and taller than a Rivian R1T but not as wide. It will probably be much smaller than a GMC Hummer EV and should be similar in size to the Ford Lightning.
No matter what though, this thing is going to stick out like crazy regardless of what it’s parked next to. It’s the new “Look at me!” truck, and it’s about to hit a parking lot near you, so get ready.
