As mentioned, the Cybertruck can tow up to 11,000 lbs, which is reasonable. However, the Tesla can’t hold a candle to its gas-powered compatriots. The Ford F-150 can haul up to 13,500 lbs behind its facelifted body, while the Silverado 1500 manages a bit less, at 13,300 lbs. At 11,580 lbs, the Ram 1500 may trail behind its long-time rivals, but it still surpasses the Tesla.
The Rivian R1T matches the Cybertruck regarding towing power, but the Silverado EV and F-150 Lightning lose out to both by 1,000 lbs. Despite its He-Man styling and chunky weight, the Hummer EV comes in last with 8,500 lbs.
Ignoring the electric rivals for a minute, the Cybertruck falls short in another area. As we’ve seen, the range of an electric truck is significantly reduced when towing, making it less practical compared to ICE-powered trucks, especially on long trips.
