It’s unclear whether the two-seater Model Y will be sold only in France or the wider European region, but those in the country can benefit from a deduction available to commercial vehicle buyers. That doesn’t include French EV incentives, which can be as much as €7,000 (approximately $7,600). Something like this could sell well in the United States, especially if Tesla can get the pricing right.
And the automaker could do with another strong-seller in its lineup. Last month, Tesla sold 60,365 EVs in China. While that sounds impressive, it is the brand’s weakest month of sales since December 2022, reports Reuters, citing information from the China Passenger Car Association.
Following the announcement, the automaker’s share price has plunged. On March 1, Tesla stock was valued at $202.64 but fell to $176.54 on March 6. Aside from slow sales, what else could be behind this?
