It will be interesting to see whether Tesla enforces this with all Cybertruck owners. A brief look at several used car sites shows multiple Cybertrucks for sale, all sporting hefty price tags. In Beverly Hills alone, there are six examples for sale, the cheapest of which is $199,900. Two examples are listed in Denver, Colorado, while five have come up for sale in or near Texas.
Due to solid demand, resellers are taking advantage of the market and selling Cybertrucks for more than double their original MSRP. A Porsche dealership in South Orlando recently got its hands on one and is now selling it for a scandalous $289,999.
Originally, Tesla said it would impose a resell fine of $50,000 or the “value received as consideration for the sale or transfer, whichever is greater.” The automaker initially reneged on the contract but brought it back late last year, stipulating that customers could not sell their Cybertrucks without permission from Tesla.
