The dune universe isnt that all big. Its not gakaxy wide. Its only like max 350 light years from earth.
Nobody wants to accept we are alone.
We are the alien life.
That's because Dune only spans some few thousands of years. There are billions of galaxies.
In other stories- long after the story of Dune, humanity is far more evolved to explore the galaxy and finds lot of alian civs.
Are the sandworms not alien, though??
Giant sandworms are definitely alien.
"Intelligence is not the end-all be-all of evolution, Survival is the only goal"
That really reminds me of the Short Story, later adapted by Love, Death and Robots, "Swarm".
This channel is saving my thirst for knowledge after watching Dune part two
Dune is basically All Tommorows
One of your best
The worms are not alien? News to me
Alien WORM!?
The sandworms are literally, fucking, aliens
Do the sandworm's not count as alien? Or do they mean intelligent alien life?
The aliens are the ones we make along the way
Ngl the cool ass stories like Dune make me kind of sad because Humanity will never reach this point, we will never travel between star systems and build cool ass space colonies. Humanity is such a waste
Every single native lifeform on the different planets are aliens. “Alien” doesn’t only include advanced species
There was a huge plot hole in Heretics of Dune. Without access to the spice, how did guild navigators return from the scattering?
What about the sandworms
Aliens are everywhere. The worms are the aliens. The shrooms are the aliens. Hooomans are the aliens to everyone outside they meet.
The concept of alien life in Dune had to have been thought of because it’s in our fictional future. So everything we have in our actual history is true to the Dune history 8 thousand years ahead of us. That’s a big reason why I like Dune so much. It’s a very realistic form of science fiction. We see how quickly humanity can adapt and evolve technology, so it’s untelling what we could be like 8 thousand years in the future
The sandworms are !
One factor among many is that The Dune Universe and all of its history is so crammed with interesting characters and types of human being that – unless they are introduced at a late stage – there is no need for alien beings too. It would just get too crowded and there would be too many ideas and it would be over egging the pudding. The brilliant original ideas concerning humanity and all its cultures and species would be overshadowed. I am not saying it is as simple as this but I think this may be one factor in the equation. If you are a writer you can have a book with too many ideas jostling around in it. There can be not enough air for all the ideas to fully breathe.
I've always been thinking that maybe one of the engines time travelled to the past during book 5/6.
thank you for giving credit to the artists!
“Where are the aliens?”
Shai-Hulud: 🪱
If Arrakis had trees, which were not brought on from Earth, wouldn’t that technically be considered extraterrestrial life?
Shai-hulud is literally an alien
No Aliens in Dune?
Sandworm: am I a joke to you?
What do you mean? The sand worms are aliens that have terraformed Arrakis for their own benefit.
About the crompton ruins, i love that after god-emperor, the answer for anything mysterious is that “leto II did it”
It's either "mankind" or "humanity", you're welcome.
I guess that the "non-human threat" means thinking machines.
Wouldn't the giant worms basically be a type of alien?
Maybe they just managed to eradicate mutants, aliens, heretics!
It happening now with differet humans from different continents and sub continents just on a much smaller level
you are such a great youtuber damn…
Same place as in our universe.
The sand worms are aliens
It's one of the things I respect about dune. Everyone says "the universe is so big there definitely are others" well we have no evidence means we are alone till proven otherwise and all life dies out with us and I think we eventually will get off this rock and create the life…or we all disappear
The thinking machines out in deep space are the closest to aliens you get in dune
Theres the sandworms, they clearly arent from earth so theyre aliens 🤷
There are giant sand worms on all the splash art what do you mean “are there aliens”?
They are the aliens
Can someone please explain what he meant in the last 30 seconds??? That shit sounds insane
What aliens. Can you prove the existence of “aliens”? Dumb question.
This movie was terrible.
We colonized the aliens
