Knew it sucked from the reveal trailer
Yeah this game just feels incomplete and has all the classic bugs from 3D Sonic outings all while very loudly borrowing elements (yes the games about to be mentioned borrowed from others before them but they’re the modern takes and the ones most fresh in peoples minds and gamers will pull the comparisons to these before any of the conceptual predecessors) from BOTW, Shadow of the Colossus, Xenoblade, Skyward Sword & Bowser’s Fury.
The game just needed to feel more fleshed out in the open world areas, the controls/cameras/glitches/pop ups/clippings all needed to be polished ten fold and we needed just a little more Cyber Space areas and less mundane puzzling aspects.
The cutscenes could’ve been a lot less just characters talking to each other and a little more seeing the characters doing the things that they do action wise.
But he’s right. Sonic fans are going to still play this and enjoy it. I’m being hyper critical of the game because I so badly wanted this to be a game of the year contender / a truly AAA feeling title so it’s flaws stick out sorely. I’m thoroughly enjoying my play through right now and I’m so glad this came out just before my 40th birthday to enjoy throughout the weekend.
Ben 10 can beat Sonic in a race bro what are you talking bout
Thanks for the review. I wonder what the reception would’ve been if this was an original IP. Give how you worded your recommendation, I take it you’re a Sonic fan?

if you like the way this game does sonic charater writing i'd recommend the idw comics. the guy that wrote those was writing for this. it's all great stuff.
I genuinely didn’t think anything could make me interested in Frontiers at all, and yet…
