3 days ago since my Simba died from a tumor and heavy disease I was devastated. I searched for his pictures and heard a cry across my window, I went out on the street and saw baby kitty girl crying for help. Of course, I had to call her Nala, and today we made our first vetenarian visit ♥ No joke, this really happened. I even gave her back to neighbours and they asked me to take care of her, to that I couldn't say no.

I brought home my 12 week kitten today. He was scared as fuck, but after a couple of hours hiding under the couch I managed to get him to play with a toy, and now we're friends.
I built his base camp around the couch where he felt safe, I put the litter box on one side of couch and his transport bag and food/water under a big old blanket on the other side of the sofa. Then I left some toys hanging in the air between the couch and table so to play with it he has to come out of hiding.
I think I was incredibly lucky, he seems to be so quick to socialize.
I just lost my beautiful cat that I had for 11 years , she was killed by a predator right on my front porch 😢 I will never let a cat outside again too risky

We adopted my grandmother’s cat when she died a couple years ago. It was already 18 at the time and was very scared of kids, which I just happened to classify as. He died a couple of months later, if not weeks if I remember correctly, but in those days, he was the most affectionate and lovable old baby I ever could have wanted.

Are you advising against adopting two kitten siblings from the same litter if I work 9 hours a day? I thought perhaps having its sibling, and a well setup base camp in a spare bedroom, with stimuli like toys, a cat tree, and the other recommended things from your videos, may make a 5 day work week acceptable.
We're empty nester. Just adopted 6 year old female. Owner went into nursing home. We've had her 6 nights. She stays in closet, hisses when I but food in her room. Somehow have to get her in carrier for vet physical April 8th, 13 days from now. I'm looting at youtube to see how that's done. Vet wanted $75 up front.

Me and my boyfriend adopted Perceval in September when he was about a month and a half old
And, you know, we were prepared for everything, but it was a surprise to us that already at such an age he had psychological trauma from his previous owners
As we were told, his previous owners just threw him out on the street with his mum and siblings (because his mum doesn't look like a street cat at all)
And every time we took him in our arms close to the front door and opened it, for example, to meet a delivery, or someone else opened the front door – Perceval started frantically breaking out of our arms and ran to the farthest corner of the corridor or to the nearest room
At such moments I really regretted that I couldn't explain to him in his language that everything is fine and that he doesn't need to be afraid 😢
Just to clarify – we have never carried him outside the flat in our arms, we do it exclusively in a carrier
And this is the reaction he has shown since the first day he was in the home
I think this man is actually a cat.

I was hoping that these tips would be put into cat language as in the last 25 years I have been the one adopted by cats.
My wife and I adopted our Creamsicle (you guessed it – orange tabby) just over two years ago. He was in a shelter, and he DEFINITELY chose us to be his mommy and daddy. He was just about 8 months old at the time. He adjusted well (meaning we adjusted well). He's just about three years old now. The shelter told us that he had been abandoned in a city park, and someone brought him into the shelter. He had been there just a couple of weeks when he chose us. We love this boy to death – and believe it or not – he loves us just as much. He's turned into a fantastic kitty!!!

If you see this, I'd have a question which we were discussing with my partner a lot. If we're gonna have a cat and he climbs on our table while or just before we're eating, is there any chance to get an infection e.g. from some bacteria sticking to his paws (which paws he digs in the litter with)?
(Also, possibilities like teaching the cat not getting on the kitchen table or clean the table every single time seem very unrealistic at this point…)

i tried so hard to adopt in the UK but the waiting list is years long if you want an indoor only cat. British rescues have got in their head that having a cat indoors is cruel. I did end up buying two perfect kittens from a local breeder instead but i feel sad for the cats who are potentially being put down in rescues while they are blocking perfectly good homes from adopting.
