I play no return more than the actual story! It's definitely addicting! I've been stuck on the garage bloater for quite a long time and sometimes I do get frustrated because I have to start all over after it or the runners kill me, but it's still a very fun challenge! Manny is my favorite character to take out infected with because of the simple fact that you can craft ammo! Given the choice I will always choose Joel! 😁

That was actually a really thoughtful and honest review, thanks for that, most reviews I’ve seen on this haven’t said much about the addictive replay ability. I’m definitely all in for that. I’m still playing through the sequel story gameplay right now on the Remastered. The game is already addictive, and I’ve played the first game so much already, now I’m still trying to earn enough points to purchase all the mods at the end. Anyways, great review, can’t wait to unlock that achievement.

This is horse sh*t, there’s only one boss fight here, Abby or Manny die, very very painfully.

The no return mode is the only thing that make the 10$ upgrade worth imo, too bad it dont have co-op multiplayer while having online leaderboard 😢

This is a fun game mode, I’m hoping Naughty Dog takes this mode to a new level, like adding a co-op. Adding more mods for fun gimmicks. I’m glad all the characters get a role in No Return. It’s nice to see Joel & Tommy. It’s really great to see Manny, I gotta say, I liked Manny a lot. He was cool, but Tommy blows his brains out, that scene was intense. Abby’s whole squad is murdered one by one, it’s great to see em. I’m hoping we get a few more characters like some Jackson folks or maybe regulars from the WLF, might portray what like is like for the regular person in this world. Could shed some light on these factions. Imagine Jackson, WFT, Scars, and The Rattlers in all in a battle royal. Each group has their own goals. Each group has the same enemy. The infected, imaging having to work together to survive and get out alive. That could be fun.
I would love if they added the levels that were in the canceled online game in a future update. That would be refreshing and awesome.
It’s a shame they didn’t make unique animations for each of the characters. They should’ve given Joel his animations from TLOU 1 instead of giving him (along with Tommy, Jesse and Manny) Abbey’s animations.
I just finished the campaign and I was really intrigued about this mode. It seems amazing, glad Naughty Dog gave us replayability for this masterpiece.
Maybe its just me but the fact that we can play as Joel again and him just being available make it feels like he never died and he's still with us.
It is the best AAA rouge like I’ve experienced so far. Co-op would be great, but at least I hope they’ll add more characters someday.
I would like them to add new Characters from the first game: Tess, Henry, Nadine, the Bombs Guy (Can't remember the name). And from the second game, Abby's boyfriend and the Wolf leader. And also, it would be awesome if we could control the infected as well, and being evolving on each infection face.
They should add the ability to map your route on the encounter board.
Like a "press Square to thumb tack an encounter".
This way you can start off by checking all the encounters and making your plan visual. Every encounter you intend to play can be thumb tacked, and all encounter photos with a red tack will get connected with a red line of yarn.
So simple, but great quality of life. I hate coming back from a rough encounter and having to scroll the board figuring out which way i wanted to go next.
I honestly dont care that no return is not story based AND contradictory to the story. HOWEVER, the fact that i can attempt a run and do five encounters before dying, and achieve NOTHING… that’s the worst thing. At least in Valhalla, you progress with every run. In No Return there is no accumulative stats or upgrades which for me is awful, as I do not play to compare myself to millions of other players so the leaderboard shenanigans of it is not for me.
