If there were intelligent life out there, such as a type 1 or greater civilisation on the Kardashev scale, then irrespective of the cosmic timeline: they would have the capacity and technology to use smart modelling to understand a planets full life cycle. Specifically, they would have been able to understand its past and predict when life occurred on earth to some high accuracy at some point of time on the cosmic scale. Us earthly humans have done this somewhat for Mars to understand glimpses of time where liquid water was once abundant. Because of the vastness of space and time – this modelling would be a prerequisite for interstellar travel (observing a planet as you see it from x years ago then predicting the planet condition on arrival).

So we’d just be an echo to them?
