As someone who’s not Chinese (people have been saying this animated story is like most other Chinese romances) I’m incredibly impressed. This animated story is one of the only stories in videogames that has me actually emotionally invested. The tragedy of characters, the deep meanings, the cruelty of order and others. Everything in this story made me feel for Zhu Bajie and all I have to say is well done Game Science 👏
2.45 scene… Both meet in the cave and Bajie shows his true form to her "I am sorry but i am actually a pig demon now" She responds by saying "Its ok i am spider yaoguai too" .This shows when in love a man will be his true self and a woman who truly love you will love you regardless of your form.
Jump forward to scene 3.03..Bajie saw that over several reincarnation cycles we see Chang'e handmaiden suffering and with each suffering she slowly transform colder and cruel and becoming more and more demonic… But to her she sees Bajie as still a handsome General despite being reincarnated as a pig demon…Bajie couldnt bare to see her suffering and is forced to ignore her love to protect her from the curse of the heavenly court. But to the handmaiden a life without Bajie is worst than any curse. The tragedy for them both is to really love her he has to leave her and for the handmaiden she hopes that Bajie wont ever forget her. She goes on to wear the same make up in each life so that Bajie can recognize her and hopes their paths will cross no matter how long it takes as she will be waiting for him to come to her.
This tragic love makes me cry because being in love so much that you are forced to leave them to protect them is very very cruel kind of love to endure. Bajie in the final scene is still forced to ignore Violet Spider and his own child is very very cruel.
