LoL at 9:45 I almost thought you said the alien queens intelligence was rated on the William Shatner scale…. 🙂
What do you mean by "professional dreamers find it hard to 'produce'"? Produce what?
I'm going to say yeah since a small hive can wipeout towns to small cities.
She helped me with my homework, so I say pretty smart.
I think it is more than possible for a queen to be very intelligent and to be able to plan ahead in changing circumstances. I also believe this is possible due to all the different species DNA that has been soaked up by their own DNA
I don’t think the creatures are as smart as humans, but perhaps like a wolf or chimp. The location of the hive on LV-426 could have been environmental related. Large enough space, temperature, lighting etc.
Would you go back for the cat, there is a cat in men and black, only the alien goes back for the cat in men in black
She understands what hostages and mutually assured destruction so…
I love the idea that the Xeno queens are actually hyper intelligent.
Like they can understand concepts like physics and could develop space faring technology if they wanted to…. but they just don’t care.
All they live for is murderrrrrr!
They have infinite patience and no human qualities like morality or curiosity or compassion.
Spoiler alert:
In the new movie, when the queen showed up in her own loader seat created from recycled materials to go after Ripley, I said that’s one smart bug
I believe that the Queen is only as smart as the situation deems them to be(not just as a movie or comic but in it makes sense in a life setting). For example, in Aliens the Queen probably did choose the reactor for the heat and instinct but it also knew to call of its own protectors which showed great intelligence and reasoning. When the nest is destroyed it attacks Ripley off of anger and less likely instincts. However, it did not understand the danger of the situation with the site about to be nuked. In the Earth War they are incredibly smart as they have to be which is why they make their nests smaller and even the drones have to adapt.
If they are similar to THE BROOD in Marvel universe, she is highly intelligent.
Yes, I rewatch your videos.. Yes.. I love this channel.. but foremost I appreciate your love of this franchise, and all of your hard work putting all of these interesting theories out there. It's just amazing
I’ve always believed they take a part of the memory or instinct from their hosts, genetic memory that sort of thing 🤷♂️
i always assumed the queen would have let Ripley n Newt go, if ripley hadnt gone rambo
I like to think the first alien facehugger that attacked Newt's father evolved into a Queen
I highly doubt that the Queen in Aliens made her nest by the primary heat exchangers due to the area being vital for the atmospheric processor because she would have to know what an atmospheric processor is and how it functions, and xenomorphs can't read at all, let alone understand the workings of such a massive and complex machine that even we haven't even invented yet.
It was most likely due to the heat the fact that it was one of the few spots large enough to house the queen and her eggs.
“Queen being the ultimate form in the lifecycle “ you might be right but I disagree with that only out of opinion because the rogue aka the King or the Crusher are two beyond badass castes that haven’t made it to the movies yet . There’s also Pretorian Royal guards ( left and right hand of the of the queen ) that are almost as badass as queens
I think the xenomorph can recognize that it is not in its own natural habitat. The queen likely concluded that the human hive needed similar conditions to survive just like her own so she went to the place where the human hive was warmest, knowing the humans wouldn't turn off the heat or else they would also die.
In all the movies so far, the xenomorph finds itself in a setting that is not their natural habitat where they might find places to build hives unhindered. It likely feels cornered and acts under the supposition that it's in danger from the multiple potentially deadly Ripleys stomping around pushing elevator buttons and what not.
They don't really eat the humans, they mostly just use them as hosts, mostly.
Perhaps that's why they are viable as a bio-weapon. They kill off the native population and then they go dormant and eventually die out. I suspect that's what was going to happen anyway on LV after inseminating all the colonists. That planet is basically barren rock aside from the colony itself.
To have evolved into this perfect survivor they mush have had to contend with some serious threats on their home planet. There's likely something bigger hunting them back home. So they stay safely in their cozy hives under ground, communicating telepathically, queen to queen, and mostly come out at night, mostly looking for food.
Its intelligence is very focused on survival through adaptability. The Xenomorph has excellent perception of its surroundings and can learn through observation. Their home planet must be so incredibly hostile that evolution has only taken them to this point.
Now is where one would ask themselves if the way of the opposable thumb, building starships and evil corporations would have been possible on their home planet at all or rather, what we see is the most functional and adequate result for their circumstances. As in, are they less, more or equally intelligent to humans? In terms of survival I think they got us beat.
We're dumb enough to keep poking them with a stick for one. We can only survive them as long as we outnumber them. Once the balance tips in their favor it's game over man! Game over!
Ok I'm done.
I guess she has to be intelligent in order to adapt to different environments.
How the queen gets onto the Sulaco?
The problem with the xenomorphs was that they got smarter with every it seemed and became less and less animal like.
In Aliens they infiltrate a room from the ceiling, and the queen can operate an elevator.
In Alien Resurrection the aliens figure out that by killing one of themselves, they can escape from the cell by using their acidic blood.
In Alien Covenant the xenomorph recognizes and attacks a camera towards the end.
What I liked about the first movie was that, the xenomorph was very animal like, and it wasn't as fast as in Alien 3 and Covenant.
She choose the heat exchangers on purpose?
Sheeeiiiit. That never occured to me. 👀
The queen can be bargained with or even bullied into doing a persons bidding because it is capable capable of weighing risks and making decisions based on those factors. Like when Ripley threatened to destroy the hive if the queen didn’t call off the drones
Give an Alien Queen a human specimen and it will learn how our brains function
Ripley: "Let me understand, you've got the hen, the chicken, and the rooter. The chicken gets with the rooster, so who's having sex with the hen?"
Bishop: "Ripley, they're all chickens"
Alien queens are definitely smarter than most humans IN THE FILMS…they keep taking their helmets off in obviously ominous/threatening alien environments and walking right up to creepy pulsating eggs, so yeah. AI-reliant Weyland-Yutani staff are dumb as bricks.
Here's a description of the queen from the 2019 publication Aliens: The RPG…. Oh oh oh O'Reilly's Auto parts! Man the placement of these ads drives me nuts 😂.
I wished we had more films or games or even live action shorts that show the xenomorph queen and her intelligence, I think to have more scenes showing human communication in the threat of danger like ripley threatening to burn her eggs if she doesn't back away would be fantastical.
Spears wasn't training or intimidating that queen, she was biding her time and played him like a fiddle. Got a free ride back to earth for herself and her kids turning on him immediately.
Well it's a lot smarter than the kids at my school, actually I shouldn't have said that that's an insult to the queen.
There's not much consistency in the portrayal. Sometimes it's seemingly running on instinct, sometimes it's clearly capable of seeing the situation from people's perspective.
After the hive became non-viable due to the cooling system failure, it made no attempt to escape but rather chose to keep laying eggs that had no prospect of surviving. It was however intelligent enough to bargain with Ripley, and cut the power before the final assault, and operate an elevator, and stow away on the dropship.
It's as intelligent as the story needs it to be.
I never subbed you but your vids kept coming up. I fell asleep to them. I've subbed now.
Love to see a VERSUS: Xenomorph species agains The Flood (Halo).
Both are work of geniuses
The queen has her own kind of intelligence, different from humans, she functions with genetic abilities, instinct and telepathy, but we cannot consider her as a mastermind at all.
How did Hadley’s Hope get overrun with facehuggers when only one was brought back from the Derelict? This puzzle just hit me the other day after watching Aliens for the 100th time since it came out.
Before the med bay fight the power goes down and they assume ‘they cut the power’. It’s not brought up again but are they smart enough to cut the power and lights before their assault or was it just a coincidence?
Soon she will start an Instagram account and men will flock to be 'impregnate(d by) her eggs'
A alien 👽 is a dead god Xenios 🌹🌚👍Rest in the Good News 🌹Okay bye
Not long after the elevator reached the sub basement and Ripley had stepped out of it, the doors automatically closed and it returned to the platform level.
When she was escaping, Ripley pressed the call buttons for both elevators and got into the first one to arrive, the queen didn't need to operate anything because it's automated but she did have the intelligence to realise that by getting into the elevator she could pursue Ripley and Newt.
What came first the queen or the egg?
I think the queen put the egg on the sulaco
