Why have we not been visited and colonized by aliens?
I don't know, but I do know that it is probably Wesley Crusher's fault!!!!
If they are so smart, why would they dive into this zoo??😮
Paradox of fermi , Drake equation and the Great Filter are direct link together to explain why this silence …
Is it because humans are dicks?
Those of us that have encountered them, know.
It could also be an AGI avoid worlds that are wet. Water is destructive to electrical and mechanical constructs. Humans spend a lot of energy protecting such things
Why no aliens?! We're not Yet too stupid to live. Soon though..
Or, we are in some kind of computer simulation.
They have !!
We are alone. Plain and simple.
It is our duty to colonize the galaxy.
Beings have been here all along. Longer than we have even.
Because they’re not out there
The truth very well maybe we’re not as smart as we think we are and our expectations that there’s life out there is wrong.
The Fermi Paradox often assumes aliens use radio, but that's highly unlikely. There's no evidence for this, and looking at Earth’s rapid tech evolution, radio is already becoming obsolete. We're now exploring advanced communication methods such as quantum entanglement, which cannot be eavesdropped on. If aliens ever used radio, it would only be during a very brief window of their technological development, similar to where humans are now.
Given how fast tech evolves compared to biology, the time any civilization relies on radio would be merely a tiny blip in their history. Expecting to catch alien radio signals during such a narrow window is incredibly unlikely. We're probably looking in the wrong place entirely.
Currently we have a probe sitting at 42.2 light years away. Its working fine.We were not allowed to stick it by the system we had detected. So we were nice about it. No call for panic or whatnot.
Lol. Aliens
I think the answer is simple. We are not special 😂 smarter alien race just not that interested to "meet" with us
Gotta get back to work, so haven't seen whole video yet.. but the "paradox" that most refer to, why haven't we seen any aliens? We are still finding new stuff on our own planet, and also we have technology that makes jets almost undetectable, why wouldn't more advanced life?? So technically they could easily be hiding in the oceans and we'd not know.
The Fermi Paradox never been a solution…is was a joke… that it.
Why haven't aliens arrived already? So…the COUNTLESS UFO sightings are just a figment of people's imagination? If you looked at homo sapiens, a violent territorial endlessly warring species that by the way, is destroying its own habitat, would you engage them? We're a sick bunch unworthy of being contacted. If you think that we're alone in the universe you're not very bright. It's STATISTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for there NOT to be other intelligent life in the VASTNESS of the Cosmos. Pull it together dude.
I'm in the camp that any aliens that we could actually observe likely won't be visible within the lifetime of the sun. It'd have to be a super complex lifeform with amazing space technology. I'm sure it's out there but space is literally just that big
The odds of finding life, if it exists, are infinitely small. We won’t find life because we do not even know what to look for. We look for something that fits are own biases.
Before we can look for life we need to figure out what it might look like. Until we can create sustaining self replicating molecules we have no Ida what to look for without looking for something like us.
Obviously life must be at least rare. If it were plentiful we’d have seen the signs. We need to be looking for something completely different from what our biases tell us is life.
I’d be more impressed with research that tries to find life forms that might exist with the elements of the universe. Create something in a lab and look for something resembling that. Or enjoy counting grains of sand with a blindfold.
I am in the camp that says we are alone. Time to wake up and smell that coffee.
Thank you, that was marvellous and really got me thinking about the FP in new ways. There is one point I would make viz traversing the gulf between galaxies. It would take the Andromeda based hegmonising AI 2 million years to get to the Milkyway from our observational perspective. But for the AI, with its enormous resources, travelling at close go c, it could be well, like a long weekend or 1000 years etc. depending on just how close to c it could manage. So the gulf between galaxies can be breached by those with the means. And these guys would have the means.
Top shelf
They've came to earth in the pass
When people try to analyze Neil DeGrasse Tyson's role in the astrophysics and broader science community, people usually cite his value as a "science communicator" who helps the public realistically understand and get excited for science. I'm beginning to view the man behind Cool Worlds as someone who, while underrated, does more as both an active scientist in astrophysics, and a science communicator. I especially love some of his more artistic and interpretive works.
Why are you in a forest?
Our best bet is to attempt to stretch our perception of time and space and time as to endlessly run away from the death of the universe
This is all very fascinating and all but let's consider the REALLY interesting question. What came first…the chicken or the egg?
At one stage this guy says “ it has never happened in the history of our universe” how does he know that????? after making an interesting video he says what may be stupidest thing that was ever said in the history of mankind 😮😮😮😮
The part that bothers me is the fact that once you leave the planet, when you return everyone you know is dead. So in reality space travel would only be possible by the down and outs and loners. When the aliens meet them, they will have a poor view of the human race.😂😂
We are the aliens
Because we are parasites
Radiation destroys complex microcircuits. So assuming an AGI could take over the galaxy any easier than humans is likely incorrect.
I think they arrived centuries ago , saw nothing interesting and left
Who says they haven't?
Put simply: The lack of evidence is not evidence for none existence.
Why there is no one else out there? We are the first, and we are gonna take this Galaxy for us to rule. Just as God intended.
Timing, and travel which is related to distance and time. Space is huge. Not only that but if you look out at a star and see it in great detail, but that star is 1billion light years away, that light is 1 billion years old, which means that things have probably changed a great deal in that area in the “now” of the universe as we see it.
