what is so special in elden ring? played it for an hour and couldn't stand it. too difficult and not fun to play, why will you compare it to the arguably the greatest playstation game of all time.
God of war is easily goty. Why is this even a debate. Elden ring can't touch gow
What about graphics and details 🤨
I feel like the difficulty point is up in the air since elden ring can be either the easiest game in the world or the hardest game depending on how the player chooses to play (what build they make, if they choose to explore before progressing, rune grinding, etc.) but gowr has a set difficulty so it makes sense to give it to gowr
I think they both deserve it but gow release date make me want elden to win and also gow already take his respect in 2018 over red dead i think this year need to be elden for sur
Gotta have more balanced categories
For thoose that like to explore until death elden ring is just the game,i mean it will probably take forever to find everything in the game reminds me alot of elder scrolls took me forever to continue the main story because i just wanted to explore everything(im not comparing elder scrolls to elden ring)
God of war on the other hand is amaizing in all its forms, yes you can explore wich was somthing that you couldn't do in the previous games prior to god of war 2018 so that was somthing new(there was no exploration before).
The story in gow is amazing literally made me drop a tear the references in the game is awsome.
And in gow the battle is much better i think when it comes to paste and fast thinking my finger tips still hurt, much more action in my opinion,in elden ring i was bored to a degree even when i supposed to fight the hardest my hands didn't hurt after,i mean i didint need a break after a fight,in gow i was literally taking breaks and thats for me is no PAIN no GAIN baby, yes elden has much more i give them that DAMN,more than 300 weapons to pick more bosses and shit BUUUUUUT there is NO chaos blade's there is it?
To be honest a was a little disappointed that they only went with 3 weapons ,i mean a was hoping that the nemean bracelets or the chains of hades or……the sword of olympus popped up but…that was not the case, but still blades of chaos babe.
I just need to be sure, when you are referring to difficulty of elden ring. Are you talking in terms of using spells and summons, or melee and no summons? Because if you are referring to the former, then you just compared the hardest gow difficulty to the easiest elden ring difficulty. Then acted like that's a fair comparison.
Gow of war wins
god of war definitely doesnt win difficulty as elden ring doesn't require a difficulty slider or difficulty scaling/blindly buffing bosses to be difficult while elden ring requires memorization timing and skill to fully master.
best way I think about story is that elden rings storytelling is better however god of wars story is more comprehensive and well written
Elden Ring still the GOTY. People are just in the honeymoon phase of God of War Ragnarok. A lot of people forgot how amazing Elden Ring was because it came out such a long time ago.
Had to disagreeing with difficulty term…
If difficulties on game is for the sake just difficult, jus slaping slider on every game avalaible, make them more spongy and deal more damage, then done
On the other hand elden ring difficulties bakes directly on gameplay mechanic, bassically we had "slider" on game but hidden, more over the equivalent fo GOWR slider thing is ng+ in elden ring.
Elden Ring!
i platinum both game and i think Elden ring is overrated on open world it just zelda botw copied or “inspired” with dark souls bloodborne hybrid and i can’t even emotional resonance my feeling for the story at all for ER. God of War in another hand is 10x better for that the cinematic, Story and you can feel the sad, kratos rage, parent worries etc.
I think comparing difficulty between elden ring vs god of war on "give me god of war" is unfair. If you are going to compare god of wars difficulty to elden ring you should use god of wars default difficulty because that's the recommended difficulty the devs want you to experience the game on for the most enjoyable experience. Elden ring's difficulty slider is IN the game, depending on how you want to play (which is genius). For example playing caster build with +10 mimic tear is easier than playing melee with no summons. If elden ring had a "God of war" difficulty I would imagine it be like playing elden ring without leveling up vigor and no summons while enemies/bosses have 2x more HP.
I don't think you did a good job discussing the difficulty. I don't think it should come down to which is more difficult because that's arbitrary but rather which is better balanced. God of war on the higher difficulties just makes everything a bullet sponge and a heavy hitter where as the bosses do less damage than some normal enemies on that difficulty. Elden Ring isn't perfect when it comes to game balance but it's defininitely not as bullshit as GOWR. Like there's nothing in Elden Ring that annoyed me like fighting the hateful on GMGOW because he has like 2 moves and just a whole bunch of health, it's very poor design imo
Playing ER for 1000 hour to GOWR for 100 hour, it was easy to see who was YOUR winner! w/o watching the full vid
Eldin ring will not beat god of war for game of the year. You make good points but that will not be the determining factors. God of war was highly anticipated and it exceeded expectation. Satisfying combat, story line amazing, and kratos just went head to head with thor and odin. And You got to play with atreus. 10/10 for me
Gow Ragnarok beats Elden ring in graphics by a mile . Combat in Ragnarok is much deeper with more combos which is more enjoyable for true hack and slash lovers
Story in Gow is really great , its so emotional it made some people cry, there are also plenty of jokes you can laugh at, you can clearly see great character development while in Elden ring your hero cant even speak let alone show some emotions.
Also GOW is more friendly to casual gamers because of difficulty settings.
GOW is my favorite game of all time now and Elden Ring is in my top 5 of all time too, but speaking objectively I enjoy combat of GOW more , graphics is much better and it shits on Elden ring in terms of story and characters, also GOW does not need grinding like Elden ring does, so for me no comparison really.
Only area where Elden ring beats GOW is exploration , and huge variety of weapons and builds, but later gets ignored by superior hack and slash combat of GOW.
Re # of weapons, ER has quantity not quality. The number of moves these weapons have is 2 light and heavy. Every point 👉 about learning your mistakes, and how to fight ab enemy is equally valid for GOWR. Just turn on the difficulty vs one difficulty in ER.
GoW: Game of the Year
Elden Ring: Game of the Decade
Both are so good. I think elden ring, but the need to constantly Google things to follow questlines is very annoying. There has to be a better way.
Gowr: Has a set adventure
Elden Ring: You make the adventure
Both game deserves GOTY. I am def torn. I give it to Ragnarök tho due to the quality of the day 1 version alone. ER was a bit unstable to run on past gen, compared to Ragnrök. And of course, the fact that it has a narrative told to you, whereas ER requires you to do research. I dont want to watch outside videos and guides to know and understand what is happening, to piece things together.
No, Im not talking about "handholding" either, because Im talking about the story. Most people learned ER's plot twist in videos because in order to be able to do the Goldmask quest, you would need to red descriptions of certain items and be lucky to not make the mistake of giving the incantation book to another vendor before. Otherwise, you would need to know that you have to do Law of Regression in front of Radagon's statue. And while there is a message there, at first, we think it has to be an emote, not an incantation.
So bsed on those two things, if someone gave the book to another vendor, you'd need to know that you have to skip that step and already do the law of regression in front of the statue, and you also need to know that it IS the Law of Regression incantation.
That is ONE example of many in ER. Meanwhile, Ragnarök's plot-twist is so amazing, no one saw it coming, and best of all, it isnt missable. There are more plot-twists of course, and one of them is missable, but the biggest one, that will make your mouth drop, isnt.
I onoy wish GoWR was open world like ER, but also had levels where you could just wander around without fighting ebemies everywhere. That souls-like formula gets old quick imho. Like, I remember me, as well as every other streamer I saw getting to that level, getting excited about going into a city, only to see the dwarves get inside, and then enemies appear conviniently. It was lme tbh.
Elden ring for me more Replay abilitie then god of war ones u are finished that's it elden ring has ng+ I know GOW will get ng+ but I don't know why I want to play it after knowing the story and every thing eldenring has something new for me every time I play it like a new dunguons I never seen B4 new weapons bosses and just so much more but GOW is a great game
I think God of war will win cause of the story and its fresh in our minds but elden ring deserves to win cause its just a better game apart from its story
nice review, but saying "{ just " often doesnt really make a sounding decision
