What about low dust litter?
I cant do any flowerdy scents at all for her box. Unscented only and we dont like clumping litter ever. I clean her box out every morning. No problems
My cat is not that demanding . She has a room with her litter box. She has toys and scratch tree in the livingroom. She has food and water and treats. She has a couple cat beds around the house. Not hard, its her house too.
Question. How do you feel about pine pellets? I currently use Fresh News (newspaper litter, and a great company. I'm not sponsored, I just like them). It's affordable, I smell nothing, and it doesn't track. How easy will it be to transition my kitten to wood pellets? What are the down sides?
what about those litterboxes with a hole on top instead of on one side?
I think the open litter boxes are best but I can’t keep my dog out of it.. I have cabinets, then I started having to barricade the cabinets. Does anyone have a solution?
My kitten is always sneezing and coughing with the litter I use. Do we recommend something that’s better for cats with respiratory?
He had the chance to say “take it with a grain of litter” and didn’t!! 😭😭🤣🤣
My cat won't use the litter box….it's freezing here now…silly kitty. What do you suggest
as someone with a dog and a cat, i WISH my dog used a litter box! mostly for weather emergencies when itd be safer than taking her outside (extreme heat, ice, etc)
Hi Jackson, I know this is 3 years old but I'm planning on getting a kitten in a few months and will be a first time pet owner. I'm wondering what your thought are on using wood pellets for the litter? I've heard that it's much cheaper, but would I be doing right by transitioning my cat to wood pellets over clay?
We used to use wood pellets as normal litters affected my asthma… now we have multiple cats we NEEDED a clumping litter so we can clean all waste out each day…
We moved to corn I have to say it's amazing!
Also invest in the stainless steel litter boxes, you’ll reduce the smelly box. And clean it several times a day. Do we not flush the toilet every time we use the bathroom? So the kitty deserves the same treatment. Do your fur baby a favor and keep it clean. I don’t understand how people wait a day or 2 to clean it.
I don’t understand how people are so paranoid about litter boxes. I have a litter box in every room, so my cats have a choice. I’m not here to have a magazine house. I feel that life’s too short and I’m going to enjoy it with my cats. I’m not here to impress anyone. I clean the boxes out 3x a day bcz cats love a clean box, plus if you don’t keep the t clean they’ll find somewhere else to poo or pee. ❤
What litter do you recommend? I don’t use cat litter , I use the pine wood pellets. An what’s a good set up for small spaces?
We need some help with a feral cat who lives with us now. She doesn’t seem to know she can use her paws without her nails. She has bitten us..rarely and not in anger, and scratched. We don’t dare to try to pick her up…Her litter box is how you recommend. I clean it all of the time. She only recently jumped into my son’s bed. He had been trying to get her to do that. Now, it’s her bed 🙂 She’s a good kitty…she’s just been outside for many years. We think she is about 12. She is allowed everywhere in the house.
@JacksonGalaxy I keep Russell's litter box in the bathroom. He always escorts me when I go TOILET. Sometimes we both do our business simultaneously. What sound does he has to wait for me to wash my hands before he can have a SINKDRINK of water. Russell is a Maine Coon, who feels the need to hang near me, especially when I am taking a bath, lol
I use the crystals but not for cat litter, but to absorb moisture from the air. I tried to use paper litter for a cat I acquired who was declawed and standing on his hind legs. He would not use it, back to clay litter. I have the covered cat box and the cat doesn't mind it. It does keep the dog out.
When I switched to liners, my cats surprised me and only scratched them when I am behind in changing the litter. I make sure there are 3 to 4 inches of litter.
You have no clue and I will not watch ever again!
I have to disagree about the robotic litter boxes – especially the new generation of "smart" litter boxes. We have 6 indoor cats, I can't watch them all day every day to see who is doing what. Top of the line (they're not cheap) robotic litterbox will recognize the cat, and record it, he time spent in the box, and also the cat's weight. That's a lot more than I can tell than from just the leavings in the box(es). I've also had cats in the past (not at the moment) that are very picky about clean litter boxes. some of us have jobs and can't clean the box after every cat. They have their place.
Great video. I agree, every relationship requires compromise. By the way my cat and I loved the wand toy and the goodies we received when I ordered. It was delivered fast and the quality is excellent. My cat is a 1 year old rescue and with your help through your videos we are now bonding. I couldn't have done it without you and your excellent advice! Thank you! Keep up the great work! She was under the bed for a week, now she never goes under the bed. She is also now letting me pet her. She still has her moments but she and I are making great progress.
