A hugely significant detail about Ganon's final phase: it may very well be the first time we hear Link "speak" in the entire Zelda franchise. Allow me to elaborate. One of the major themes of this game is remembrance, a theme emphasized regularly during the story and yet again at the beginning of this battle – "Courage need not be remembered for it is never forgotten." I like to imagine the electronic howl in the soundtrack at the beginning of this fight as a manifestation of the hero's soul bound to the blade of the master sword. "No" or "Now" – a battle cry against the loss of reason threatened by a pure and bestial incarnation of Hatred and Malice.
