I bought this game a couple of weeks ago based on this review, and I can tell you now that the score is overrated. The controls are horrendous, especially in 3D mode. There’s a lack of camera control, the level the design can be extremely frustrating leading to cheap deaths. Play before you buy. IGN rated this game the same as Astro bot, which is an absolute joke. I wouldn’t be surprised if IGN received an “incentive” from Sega.

Generations is a masterpiece, the shadow dlc played a little clanky and the world is confusing to navigate, get it for sonic generations if you haven’t played the original. You won’t regret it

The gap between Sonic Generations (2011) and Sonic x Shadow Generations ( 2025) is a staggering 14 years. That's longer than the gap between Sonic Adventure 1 and "nostalgic" Sonic Generations (!!!!!!!!)

Two months ago, I was complaining that there are only six stages in the game since day one on Shadow Generations because I wanted at least seven stages. I understand now that Sega can only do what they can. Also, Shadow Generations is not even a standalone game because the new game is together with the remastered version of Sonic Generations from 2011. If my enjoyment is not enough for Shadow Generations then I can play the Sonic Generations remastered to have more fun.
I hope that Shadow Generations is indeed five hour campaign because based on my observation, it’s not.

I bought this over the weekend & my whole family has been playing at it for the past few days. I've been playing Sonic since the first game dropped on the Sega when I was a kid. THIS is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! I can't believe how great it is. One of the best games released for the Switch!
