Oh and that captain road is the regular toad.
You can see a boomerang in the store. Did you not see it?
That's actually not a feather power up. But actually a SNES cartridge that's why he says you have to blow.
The toad is holding a NES game that is why he says to blow into it
Boomerang flower
The Coin Blocks, worth noting, have a design matching the side view of the ones that appear in Super Paper Mario.
1:35 I realized one of the little badges/stickers on Toad's backpack is of the Inverted Pyramid, which is also from Super Mario Odyssey
The “you’ll just have to blow” line is a reference to the original NES cartridges
Here's an f for the lack of mario booty. May in another universe you get the ass you deserve on the big screen
It's canon that Toadette has a musical side — in Mario Party DS, she plays instruments and makes music and has an entire music room! So it makes sense that she'd be put on a band poster!
In the antique store, there is also a boomerang flower
No mention of the music?
3:31 it could also be a warp whistle
3:30 boomerang flower behind the feather stand.
Toad (character) addresses a purple Toad by the name "Chanterelle," despite said purple Toad being 100% generic, unlike the character by the same name in Paper Mario. Really reminded me what this could have been, had Nintendo let the background Toads have actual character design.
It's not too weird to think that Toadette is the only female and all the other toads are males.
Because the Smurfs series had all the smurfs as males except smurfette.
"Blow into it" is what everyone said in the era of cartridges – it's advised not to blow into them to make them work but everyone did anyways.
When the Toads are getting all the coins and Mario gives the coin back that 1 of the toads dropped you hear Charles Martinet as 1 of the toads if you listen closely for headphone users you will hear him on the left
The reference to blowing into it is a reference to the toad holding an original Nintendo cartridge. You used to blow into the cartridges to clean them before playing. Also, I think the antique dealers voice is the first heard cameo of Chris Martinet.
My favorite part is the cheep cheepvwho looks at mariob suspiciously
3:10
Not only that but the band sign has a similar color scheme as the intro for Super Mario Bros. 2, with the red borders and sky-blue background.
2:55 they fixed model
The purple toad named Chanterelle might be a reference to the pop diva from paper Mario. She’s just not in her diva outfit.
6:57 it’s a reference to blowing into Nintendo cartridges.
Copycat copied by Copycat the Copycat
In start of the rainbow road scene there is funky kong
Am I the only one who noticed that the background when rainbow road is showed is most definitely cascade kingdom?
i think it supposed to be a warp wistle from super mario bros 3 beacuse you blow on it to warp to another kingdom
5:04: on the right there are some Mario Sunshine watermelons
If you ask me, Fry looked like he was having a blast compared to Mario.
Why would the Super Leaf cost more than the Tanooki Suit?
Ooh, yes, nice details, although Nin10doland said it was some game cartridge, anyway, there's just on thing I am triggered about, it's that the super leaf costs 5 and he tanooki suit costs 3, but the super leaf usually turns you into Racoon Mario, but the tanooki suit is an upgrade that can also turn into a statue, hopefully we see some context about that.
Also when Mario and Toad comes out of the lift platform, Mario runs as he does in Super Mario 3D World where he holds his hands to his side in 4:37
Judging by the fact Mario follows “captain toad” and how the toad knows about his brother, I assume Mario meets the toad earlier on and explained to the toad what happened. Just a theory
To blow the SNES cartridge is THE reference hahaha
Mario looks like how he ran in super Mario 3D world on the case art
The blow in to it is a classic NES Cartridge.
That was a lot of references! When I saw the clip recently, I saw the Clear Pipes and said, "Ooh! The Clear Pipes from Mario 3D World!" Glad I got to see actual footage of the movie! I still can't wait! It's less than four months away!
I remember when we would blow into the NES cartridge… those were the days. Guessing that’s a reference to that.
