This f**** game is a waste of time! I only tried playing it because it was forced down my throat with the only PS5 package I could find! Why is this game so f**** difficult? Why does my wrist hurt so f**** bad I can't play 4 days after a couple hours of this game?
I give it a 5.
This game sucks top to bottom with the inconsistent unresponsive basic controls on my PS5. I'm sick and tired of mashing L1 for the shield during combat WELL before getting hit, only to watch Kratos stand there and get killed. He also can't dodge a snail, enemies can damage him from OUTSIDE of their impact zone, and they can damage HIM while he's executing a runic attack without suffering damage themselves, which is total horse shit. I've literally blown through maximum rage on an enemy to deal ZERO damage. That is inexcusable. I've defeated Ghost of Tsushima, Shadow of War, and Horizon Forbidden West on the most difficult settings with no complaints. But GOW Ragnarok is incompetent. I shouldn't have to back the difficulty off to the easiest setting just to survive a berserker. simply because the controls don't work. Some of them give you no time to attack because you're too busy dodging, and the shield is good for ONE block as you get stunned and then killed by the next blow. I've also noticed this game's bad habit of changing my weapon mid combat without my say-so, and even putting them away so I just have my fists. It happens all the time, to the point I'm not going to play this game anymore. I've defeated it by making difficulty adjustments, and I don't even care to complete the whole game. I didn't pay good money for a game that doesn't work and has too many/too LONG animated cut scenes. Some of them are 10 goddamn minutes long before gameplay actually resumes. WORST game I've ever played from a "controls don't work" standpoint by far. It isn't my wireless controllers either, it's the game coding itself. It literally takes too long to execute your inputs after you've mashed the buttons.
There are definitely better games out there subjectively. My mindset with big game releases when someone says these X games are just better in and came out before. Usually I've already played them so the feeling of a good story, or any other thing you want out of a game just isn't there during a replay, or I just don't care to play it cause well with this example I want to play God of War and not that certain game.
Liking games has become so convoluted cause no matter what some one person out there will hate you or dislike you for it, this video has some good critiques and understandable points so no discredit to you.

Most players who praise this game would probably hate JRPGs, even if some aspects are done better in them. I don't like most JRPGs either despite knowing that.

Thank you for being honest with your review. I'm a jrpg supremacist, so the game isn't for me. It's just funny to see all of the shills claim that it the greatest game of all time. Not even close.
