Poor Smoothie! Yes, it can be scary for them; but, as you discovered they bounce back fairly well. My kitties moved all over with me and I did what you did–kept them in one room at the new place and let them get used to smells, etc., and gradually get used to things. On another topic, I'm assuming you are bilingual. What about the cats?

I've been following your move, backwards. You did everything right.
When I moved with cats, I locked them in the bsthroom intil all the moving was done, stuffed them in their carriers and took them to their new home, set up their litterbox, put their water znd food bowls out, opened the carriers…introduced them to where the litter was and the food and let them explore at their pace.
Milkshake and smoothie are so good for each other their relationship is incredibly supportive. Whenever I move my cat – who’s an only child – loves it as long as we let her scream as loud and as long as she wants lol
