I'm 60 hours into Divinity 2 and I bought this on Steam in preparation for Completing Divinity 😂😂

I wish I understood why people like this game so much. Surprising amount of performance issues, dull combat reminiscent of plenty of other games, and unlikeable characters. I truly want to enjoy it, but my first 13 hours have been really frustrating and dull. Does it escalate into some extraordinary experience later on, or something?
If this game had started off for $80-100, it would be worth it for each dollar. Real talk.
Just don’t try to play evil. 1/2 the game is cut short, you miss out on a lot of quests, vendors and story that aren’t replaced,

Subjectively it's not my favorite game of the year (it's my second), objectively it's by far one of the best games i've ever played. It has so many details it's insane honestly. I didn't know Larian before this game, but man have they gained all my respect. This truly is a masterpiece and one of the best games in the last 20 years imo.

Coming back after IGN made their pick and i have to say Gamespot is on a whole other level, i just looked up the GOTY history of Gamespot and its miles better i dont think i disagree with any pick except for 2004.

After playing this game for hundreds of hours I understand why other developers are coppin' pleas and I'm not sure I blame them. I feel sorry for anyone trying to make a choice driven RPG after this because Larian just launched the bar into orbit!
This game is a masterpiece. After Divinity Original Sin 1, 2, and BG3, I hope Larian Studios continues to maintain these standards. Truly the best game studio in the world imho.
Larian deserves every bit of credit they are getting.
Something must be wrong with me because this game is just not clicking with me. The graphics are mid, the combat is slow and unintuitive, the main protagonist is mute and emotionless.
But I see millions are liking it so maybe I'm just different. Congratulations to BG for winning game of year though
My gf and I bought the game yesterday because we really wanted to see what was so good about the game.
All it took for me knowing this could be game of the year was watching her in the character creator, getting curious, and turning on my second controller.
We didn’t know it had couch coop.
Seeing that intro gives me chills to play the game again, How can a game be this good more like Game of the Decade for me.

it was a no brainer this game would be GTOY, however no matter what you say all those salty Spiderman 2 and Zelda biased fans will never accept it because Baldur's Gate 3 is a turned based game.

Everything was good until Squidman vs Princeboy.
Choosing to free Princeboy triggers insta Squidman leave but there is no real reason for it and feels forced.
A persuasion check should have happened there to join forces. This way they force a player to self-sarcifise and it felt forced.
Princeboy is also very weak for hyped up hero.
Might have been mine if it worked on Xbox keeps deleting save data lost 7 hours.
Until now I don’t know how this game won the game of the year

I took a year off gaming. I made up all that lost time in BG3. Hands-down, the most amazing game I've ever had the pleasure of playing. Even though I've moved on to new games. I often notice myself thinking shoot there's still stuff I can do in BG3. Game of the decade 👏🏾💪🏾

I'm sure BG3 is a great game but I just can't stand turn based games. I want to control my character in a fight not select something and watch an animation. Glad everyone who likes these games are enjoying it though.
