Shorter recap if you're impatient:
Link awakens after 100 years in the Shrine of Resurrection with no memory. He learns that Calamity Ganon devastated Hyrule, taking control of the Divine Beasts and Guardians, while Princess Zelda has been holding him back in Hyrule Castle.
Link regains his memories, frees the four Divine Beasts, and defeats Ganon with Zelda's help, restoring peace to Hyrule. However, Hyrule remains in ruins, and rebuilding lies ahead.
Tears of the Kingdom picks up from this point.
Here cuz I bought myself tears of the kingdom for $30 and now I need to know why my arm is glowing
thank you so much, i needed this before jumping into totk bc i wanted to feel the story of it from the beginning, but i’ve played botw twice and didn’t catch half of this 😂
I don't play BOTW but the lore fascinates me
Thorough recap, thank you!
Thank you! I'm just about to finish ToTK and had forgotten most of the details here! Well done!
So….shadow of collosus for a new generation?
"A century has passed"…I mean, call it quits 😂
I got to the last boss and couldn't win started again couldn't get as far took forever and then new one dropped so just wanted the story at this point jump into the next game 😅
Didn't understand
the scene where they discover the divine beasts within the mountain, where's that from?
I just started Tears of Kigdom and realized I dont remembery any of the characters from the first one, lol, thank for recap
Pretty bland story
Honestly, this feels like a classic children's book. Someone needs to get on that!
nice ! I just finished the game (starts at september 2022, end at june 2023). it's a bit late, but I've come here to see the recap of my adventure. turns out I was doing it in a weird order, I went from zora to desert to bird island and take death mountain last.
it was a really fun game, and until the end I don't really know what to use starlight fragment for. I thought I can craft some meteorite weapon
Thanks mate, needed this!
Good video. I just got a Nintendo Switch but can only buy one game. ToTK it is then.
I didn't play BoTW but I really like the way Tears of the Kingdom feels
Thanks! I haven’t played BOTW but started playing TOTK and this gives some good information as i go forward:))
Very good synopsis of BOTW
Demon lord awake a few years too late, else you'd have a evil vs evil battle
I’ve played ocarina of time and never got botw because I felt it wasn’t as polished as I wanted. I got totk and I hope it lives up to its 75$ price tag😭
Feel like the other mainline Zeldazzzzz have a better story.
Sooo much better than Nintendo’s official recap👏🏼
Props for predicting some gamers thoughts. Haven't played BOTW but wanted to know a quick summary of the story b4 maybe looking into TOTK
Thank you! We did figure some things out but definitely went backwards once we were around the temple of time! We will be watching your channel!
200+ hours in BOTW and there was hardly a story that was longer than a 5 minute tale.
thanks man
Now that’s a recap. Much better than Nintendo’s own effort!
Thank you for this! I was never able to finish the game/
Jon well done!
As much as I wanted to like BOTW… it just didn't do it for me. When Ocarina came out, the N64 was the peak of consoles regarding performance, and the whole 3D games were revolutionary back then. But when BOTW came out, there were plenty of games on other consoles running at 1080p-60fps and even 4K, so I found the resolution and framerate a bit distracting, as well as the whole open world idea and having hundreds of weapons that would eventually break. And now that I'm watching the recap story, I just can't seem to find it interesting, lol. Not sure if it's me, or if Zelda is drifting away from its essence. I know TOTK will be similar, and I will play it no matter what, but I'd rather stick to using a normal-unbreakable sword, dungeons, and not being able to go straight to the final boss from the very start of the game. I did like the divine beasts as puzzle-filled dungeons tho, let's see what tears has to offer
I feel stupid. I did so much but never actually went and beat Ganon. Came here for a quick recap, lol
Watching this in the car outside of midnight release lol. 30 min to go
About to fight gannon in botw then start tears of the kingdom thanks for this vid 😎
Fantastic video guys! Definitely needed the recap hah. Watched this right after a live candlelit performance of music throughout the series and now getting in line for the TOTK midnight release! Cheers fellow Hylians! 💚
like if you're watching this just moments before playing the game.
You forgot the part where all of us died a thousand times fighting thunderblight Ganon and almost decided to return the game.
Breath of the Wild doesn't have a story that needs 15 minutes to recap.
…
Link…
Link…
LINK…
Awesome!
So what made Zelda's seal at the end of the game better than the seal put on Ganon originally?
I never really thought about it, but Zelda going to the castle to face calamity Ganon by herself while all the champions have fallen is kinda badass
you dorealize your now like the 5th gaming channel todo this exact video, so getting a downlike.
If you played Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, that story erased this story. In Age of Calamity, Princess Zelda from the Breath of the Wild timeline accidentally sends a mini Guardian named Terrako back in time. Terrako is able to warn the inhabitants of Hyrule about the arrival of Calamity Ganon, allowing them to prepare for the upcoming conflict. Very frustrating and undermines fans who enjoyed this game and its story.
nice video, an exact copy (creatively spoken) of the recap nintendo posted a few days ago
Great summary, masterfully done
