We hv trouble figuring out about the obvious these days and now u talk about 300 yrs from now….😂
the what kinda drive ?
I think your math may have been off on the time it takes at 72,000 kilometeres per second and the time it would take to reach proxima centauri. Just want to say that journey should take approximately 17 years, and not 36 years. Unless i misunderstood something you had said.
It's so easy to talk about space travel when you use a fictional drive system, that will likely never exist.
All these worlds are yours
Except Europa
Attempt no landings there.
The EPSTEIN DRIVE???
The ships in the Expanse are propelled by the EPSTEIN DRIVE??
Damn, no wonder I never liked, saw or wanted to see that stupid, garbage and ideologically sick show.
I'll stick to Star Trek, thank you very much. Damn..
Great video!
kkkkkk "o motor epstein tem uma eficiencia insana e UM NOME INOPORTUNO"
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
Серьёзно ? эту карабельную фигню рекламируют даже в америке ? я всегда думал, что это чисто локальная отечественная (Русская) фигня от мэйлов, аналог танков ….
Nuclear power can burn constantly
I might suggest reading Saturnalia by Grant Callin fun read detailing a lot of the information you go into here. Also many of Larry Nivens writings.
Your Hohmann transfer graphic was incorrect. Burning rocket engines in the same vector as earths orbit does not bring you closer to the sun. You would have to burn 180 degrees earths orbit to get closer to the sun.
I just found this channel.
This is Gold.
Pluto: Am I a joke to you!? 🥲
Or you could build a ship with the shape of the Enterprise NX 01, where the gondolas are actually fuel tanks, the part below two engines built in opposition, so that you avoid having to turn the ship ( which is very dangerous ), where the opposing engine is slightly more powerful so as to ensure better deceleration, where the disc section, is the habitable part of the ship, with tools and hospital for any emgenzes, and inside it a lender for landing. All available technologies.
you might need to script these videos better, you completely forgot to talk about star trek.
I subscribed the moment you said SPeeeEEEEd!!
We should start working on this constant thrust space travel and orbital rings to get off earth fast and cheap.
1G constant acceleration gets you to any star in the galaxy in a lot less than 100 years *for the people on the ship*.
(General relativity is wild!)
Hold on. In what way is The Expanse a realistic version of how our future might play out, but Star Trek isn’t? Both stories completely rely on fictional technology.
Spoiler:
Your orbit of Eros is wrong. It should be firmly on the surface of Venus.
Possibly…going tp.the "outer.planets"…would be more long term.going n staying awhile.a fleet of ships.or a few really big ones.but imagine a houndered years from now.but its likely theyll sit on the moon awhile
Surprised that you didn't get into the fact that you can get to the edge of the observable universe by accelerating at the rate of earth's gravity for about 25 years.
The Mormons going to Tau Ceti instead of Alpha Centauri echoes Mormon history; its just like in the 1800s, when the Mormons settled in Utah while everyone else was focused on California. After you've spent all this effort to set up your perfect isolated religious colony, you don't want a ton off non-Mormons showing up a few years later and bringing in their own ideas, so they picked a place that nobody else was interested in.
5:25 uuu not so sure of that
I wish you brought up liquid breathing to address the acceleration issue on the human body. 3 body problem has a good example.
This is so great! I was recently working through some new ideas based on the old Niven classic, The Mote in God's Eye, which is another setting with continuous thrust (I think some form of nuclear propulsion, would need to check), and this helps me visualise some of the work.
Very cool stuff, thanks 👍
I doubt we'll ever can do a "straight line trip" in our solar system due [insert various scientific sound explanations here], but it really would help if we wouldn't have to go in circles but only need to do "curved" path directly to the next planet. Shrinking down a trip from months to mere days would make planetary space travel viable.
And once we have access to Jupiter, we even can use the planet's athmosphere as fuel source for the reminder of our human civilization.
