what the smach z wanted too be.. (and what the gpds should be doing)
Great video and concise coverage; agree on the battery; that is very disappointing. I would guess that serious strategy games are a PITA though on this; I can't imagine playing a mouse and keyboard heavy title like Rome II Total war with its myriad shortcuts with this.
The steam deck is a cheaper but better version of GPD WIN
Any chance some one could get AMD Link to work on Steam Deck?
aside from outside use, do you think indoors in the evening, the etched screen adds or retracts from the screen experience ?
I guess I need to buy a switch next.
Switch Pro better come with backwards compatibility next year or I'm riding it out with me Switch backlog while waiting for the Steam Deck 2 🙂
Does the anti glare dull out the colors?
as an electrical engineer, hearing the phrase @ 6:53 "and it's like 32,000 steps of analogness" is the funniest thing ever. I get the intent, and agree, but it's still a very funny joke as well.
Yes to everything but I gotta ask, was playing PC games not as easy as pressing a button for the last 10-15 years? These days it's just steam or some other shit launchers that you download like any other app, click buy on a game and it installs itself. Before steam or before steam was good you'd go out to buy a game (crazy times), put a disc in, and click install, so pretty much just the way consoles did it. I'm not gonna sit here and pretend that for someone who's never touched a computer a PC will be as easy to understand as a console, consoles were always more intuitive, but for an average person there's no difference in difficulty of "just playing games" especially now when we have steam.
I've watched this video about 5 times now, and your optimism is bursting out of you. Its obvious you love this device. Your emotion and body language say all I need to know.
I will wait for them to ship to Mexico or if it is not time to turn to a friend who lives in the US it is a device that really surprised me and I shut my mouth
Tate mode on steam deck… finally someone with the right priorities talking about the deck
hmm ill pass, same reason ill pass on consoles. I like my open and free platform.
You're the first person to answer one of my big questions. I was wondering if the SD card would be hot swappable and you said not only is it but it's absolutely amazing.. that's awesome! There's another round of emails going out I think Monday hopefully mine will pop up because I did get it pre-ordered in the first 30 seconds but who knows maybe that put me at the end of the year LOL
I bought the onexplayer 5700u as I couldn’t get a steam deck in Australia but remote play is the way to go it’s amazing how awesome it really is.mind you I run a 3090 on my pc so remote steam and Xbox game pass and emulators and PS4 pro remote play is crazy all why lying in bed
How easy it to transfer stuff from Windows to this. I wanted to play my p5 modded but it requires a special version of rpcs3. I also have some old games that I'm not even sure can run on Linux for example of sonic heroes. I wanted to use this to mainly emulate and play a bunch of sonic games I have on my pc
So go from a monster rig on a giant oled to some shitty little toy…no. Being an adult I have things to do when I'm out and playing a game isn't on the list. And certainly no reason to ever use a screen barely bigger than a switch
400 low end, most suggest mid. I do not see great value when you can purchase a low end gammers laptop for very little more. It will play more games better, it will have as good or better battery life, and be useful for other pursuits. The tear down on nexus made it look very fragile, though fixable. The software end was not so good, way too much "adjusting" for max performance. It really seems designed for couch gamming as to call this truely portable is a stretch.
how is the fan noise on the steamdeck? I hate loud fans and that would be a big no for me to buy.
At a huge FPS drop.
