I had 2 cats, Violet a BSH girl and Saffi a Sam blue point boy.I got them both as kittens but Violet liked her time on her own .Saffis games were too rough for her. Sadly the boy cat developed renal failure and died within days..Violet grieved for a week or 2 but soon bucked up with trears and extra grooming. Now she loves being on her own wirh me.,She still needs time out and often I cant find her even inside the house.

My British Shorthair, is Blue Dilute Torti in color, she tolerates being picked up but will try to wiggle out of my arms, she is by my side constantly, even more now that I have had surgery, where ever I lay or sit she is right by my side or in my lap. She loves belly rubs, petting on her face, neck, chin, and head and ears. She will greet me at the door after being gone. She is normally polite, calm, lazy, and quiet, unless she is upset, then she will let me know loudly that I accidentally closed the sliding door and she got stuck on the back porch. She misses me when I am gone. She won't cuddle or spoon, but she will lay by me at night. She has a great disposition and loves playing with string and pushing around her treat ball. There's more, but you get the isdea lol. Oh, she came to me after I already had a full-grown black part Simease cat. She bullied him constantly, and he would never retaliate. I just noticed I am on my grandaughters profile, lol

Yeah, this is all accurate. My two British shorthairs from the same litter are wonderful, faithful, and lazy cats. They spend all of their time next to me, but they are not lap cats or ones that enjoy being picked up. They are so cute, though!
My golden british shorthair passed away this spring at the age of 13 due to kidney cancer. He was such a gentle and polite boy who chose me as his owner, even though my parents loved him no less than me. He knew how to cheer me up when I was sad, or he understood when I'm physically hurting. He also was very talkative, as if he fully understood my language. Miss him dearly and think I won't have another cat anytime soon.

I have a 1 year old Golden Brits Shorthair, his name is Tom. It is so true that he doesn't like be held, but he is always looking for me whenever I'm home or around. He prefers to be alone and chill by himself. He is also a quiet and well behaved boy, no jumping on counter, no furniture scratching, just lying down and being cute.
The part about the cat’s personality is incredibly accurate to my British shorthair kitten. He doesn’t like getting picked up, he makes adorable squeaking sounds, he’s very patient with kids-never scratched, bit or hissed at them once no matter how much they annoy him-, he’s too lazy to run out the door or jump into the fridge, and he suddenly runs around crazily at night making squeaky noises and then lies back on the floor doing absolutely nothing.

We got our baby shortly after we got a puppy, they have grown up together (both are three now) and they are best of friends, love to play and when the cat has enough she just goes to a different part of the house for her quiet time. Such amazing little cats.

My "Mr Chin" is a wonderful companion. He is a lap-cat part-time and an independent friend. He is very vocal and clearly tells me what he wants. I leash trained him when he was about 6 months old. He now loves to ride in the car and is social with other animals. Surprisingly he acclimates to dogs faster than other cats… rofl. My boy loves to be held and he is a pure bred BSH so I don't agree with this point of this video. I have known him since he was born and he came to me first out of 2 litters that I helped my daughter raise and rehome. He "owned me" and started claiming my lap when I spent my daily time grooming the kittens. He loves to climb trees!
My British shorthair kitten is an angel. She doesn’t cry too much and she has very adorable eyes. She is active and playful and is already adjusting with everyone in the family.
