I ended up getting the game and I actually love it I love how you play as Batman's protege's like Nightwing Robin Red Hood and Batgirl it is a good game for me

I never have any frame rate issues… hitting 60fps on 4k.. you guys need to invest in better tvs like its wild people complain about games an dont have the hardware to support it

I'm a casual gamer. I think I'd like this game. The complaints I head sounds like dedicated gamers.
The hate that this game gets is almost unjust for all the reasons that you stated. Personally I feel that everyone was still so pissed and but hurt over the FPS and next genn only update, that they as you said: "went in it to hate it." And it this point it feels like people are just jumping on the bandwagon. This game has issues, it's not perfect. Hell no. But it is NOT horrible. I have not stopped playing it since it came out 3 months ago cause it's everything I ever wanted. The Arkham Series never truly gave us Gotham City. This game IS Gotham City. It's a large crime infested Hell Hole full of victims, cops, and civilians. The only thing missing is the Bat itself.
I absolutely loved this game. It was great with friends, I was able to just jump right back in at my own pace. I can see where people found the price to be an issue but as a game I’m shocked people never gave it the light of day.
Just got the game a couple of days ago and I really like. Didn’t know about the online hate until after I bought it and and was liking it. So I’m glad it didn’t see the hate and was able to like it on my own

I never knw I will ever play a 30fps game after playing 120 and 60fps all year long but damn this game changed that and I don't even care bout the fps , this game is thoroughly fun even though i know with 60fps it would have gotten better but hell I love this game , I prefer it to sony's Spiderman, I love the fact that I can get beat if I'm not good enough

I was under the impression because it had no tethering for the co-op is what they used for “next gen only” reasoning.
Still even now, every day I see a new video where people straight up say falsehoods. One asshat called this a Live Service game. Not used to be during development, but said it was a Live Service game. Then you have mega popular people like Moist boy saying the game literally plays itself so it is impossible for people to be playing it badly. Also, the crafting system is useless, then 10 minutes later, he crafts a new suit and says “wow this is a huge upgrade”. Yeah, useless Charlie boy lol. He also said the skill trees are identical for every character. Legit he said it 3 times then showed ONE characters skill tree and said “all of these are the same for all 4 characters except the 3rd one which is the ONLY one that is different”
Meanwhile, he does not know how to do the Knighthood challenges… dear Zombie Jesus, why are people so fucking dumb?
I hate defending a game that is so problematic but I cannot stand people who spout off falsehoods. It makes people think what they are saying is true.
Thanks for this. I've been watching videos of this game, particularly Batman Arkham Video's walkthrough, and the number of comments absolutely trashing it has gotten me discouraged. I really do want to like this game, flaws and all, and I am interested in buying it once it goes on sale.
I think you're right, I think a lot of people and reviewers decided that they hated the game right off the bat and they're not being fair to it. I personally wasn't expecting a perfect game, not even a Triple A game, I just wanted the game to be fun, and it does look like fun. It's just frustrating how some people apparently can't handle people having different opinions than them.
I’ve been saying this to my friends, reviewers don’t have the time of day that games like this need, I’m enjoying it thoroughly because I can sit down over the course of two weeks, and just hop on with a friend and fight crimes and find collectibles and take it at my own pace, making the game much more enjoyable, but reviewers have to get reviews out in a week or less so don’t have time to properly sit down and just take in a game
People hating on this game because it isn't arkham forget arkham knight had its issues. It may be beautiful to look at, but the gameplay is pretty much a copy paste, there are too many boring batmobile sections and it was buggy af on pc when it launched
I like it ,but I was hoping for a dark game full of bashing criminals it has some things I don't like . But overall it's a fun action game

Is it at an unacceptable point technically as of now? Absolutely.
The game is not polished. It doesn't preload shaders which is a huge issue when starting it up for a significant amount of time, it isn't fully utilizing the CPU like it should, and the 30 FPS cap on consoles is probably not fixable because it is so heavily CPU bound.
The in game frame limiting is also not working properly. On PC you can literally fix this by applying frame limiting with your GPU.
You're better off waiting until these issues are patched before getting this game on any platform.
It is correct that it isn't "broken" like Cyberpunk was, but the frame issues and lack of polish is horrible here. These things should have been fixed before the game was released.
The core of the game is good overall, but it is in an unacceptable state.
Wait for fixes, then dive in. It's not as bad as people say as a game, but they are right about the technical problems that are dragging it down. It leaves a bad first impression and the issues are almost all based on it being heavily CPU bound and not using the CPU efficiently, as well as not preloading shaders like it should have the option to do.
Most of the major issues are fixable, the lag is real though, and the best thing to do is hold off until they fix it.

Honestly if you had a PS4/PS5 and Played Spiderman and Miles, there is no way in hell you'd think this gsme was exceptable.

I haven't finished the game yet but for me it's exactly what i wanted. Nightwing and Red hood are some of my favourite dc characters and i wanted them to have a game. The voices in german are also really great and the combat is fun. I don't mind the leveling and crafting because you get good suits automatically.
Normal people who play games only games until “they are done with the game”. Not 50 games a year as fast as they can do they can make videos and reviews.
my main is red hood and i was scared to use his i love him in comics the animated movies but i watched tons of reviews and i think the game is awesome n i like the combat the abilities and red hood is super fun sad he isn’t killing people but i understand y he isn’t killing anyone

A few QOL fixes and this game will be an absolute gem. The combat and Co-Op is awesome. Once you get to 40 and you can make builds the game really opens up.
I don't get why they say the combat is repetitive, you can get pretty creative, and all 4 heroes have a completely different skills and traversal abilities (except for the bike). I really like it and I hope for future content.
For me personally I love the game as it is also there is room for improvement of course. I do think that the co-op was stupid now hear me out, there’s four character’s right and the Co-op only allowed one person to join in a session but other than that it was amazing. I do hope in the near future they fix that and add new playable characters to the game cause if you are a Batman fan you know that’s not all of the Bat family member’s .

Playing as red hood floating around the beginning of the game waiting for my best friend to upgrade his console so we can play together, im having a lot of fun by myself and that's all I need to know this is going to be a blast with him and I cannot wait

I believe everyone is entitled to their opinions. But one thing I’ll mention is that all the reviews, like ign, who complained about the combat being shallow and mundane. I noticed their gameplay reflected them not doing well in the game. I also find it interesting no reviewers spoke on Perfect Strikes in combat.
I’ve been playing as nightwing and attempting perfect strikes in combat keeps me engaged as it’s not easy to do. Sure the game has other small issues imo, and the game may be expensive, but this game is way more fun than it was given credit for, and gameplay detractors for it seem disingenuous to me. I have a level 20 character and have put in about 20 hours and am loving every minute of it. Co op also makes it more enjoyable. Great vid!

I hope WB Montreal continues to work with Gotham Knights and show all those who have dogged on it that it's an incredibly underrated experience, standing alongside the Arkham and Spider-Man games.
I really appreciate your honesty. I do not go by reviewers recommendations. I usually wait for gameplay. I plan to play this game myself to make the final judgement, but I will not play this game at its current price point. Seems priced high for what is being offered.
