DIABLO 3 is a dog shit.Lest just be honest
This didn’t age well
D3 was and will never be good for me, it's a failed ARPG, it's so shallow that feels like a mobile game. A cookie clicker at best imo.
D3 is a masterpiece
Don't give them any money. Go and buy Grim Dawn instead. Tripple a Devs have been taking the piss for years. Its time to support the smaller Dev teams. PS, Grim Dawn is amazing, well worth your time. and its cheap
D3 is a good game but if you played the older games then this it will feel different and boring as it's too bright. The older games feels like dark souls games as they are dark and filled with despair that gave you a more rewarding feeling on overcoming the random obstacles. D3 felt like more of a mmo game.
It’s one of my favorite games of all time. So yeah, I love it sooooo much.
lol you mean Diablo 2 rewards you for looking up a guide. What’s the depth in Diablo 2’s combat or skill system? You pump points into one skill, and you spam click that spill and potions. Is that the depth you’re looking for?
The worst diablo ever made without a doubt
Please someone answer me. I never play diablo. And i wanna experience the game with long and slow pace grinding to get gear. My question is will i be fine to play diablo 3 with out connecting on the internet forever on xbox? Thanks. Is all the content still available in offline mode? Except season reward?
Can i play this and enjoy with out subscribing on xbox gold forever?…
why , you want to play a game that you never die ?
D3 is still the best Diablo, and best ARPG. It plays best, and is actually fun to grind in. D1 was innovative in its time, and D2 might be the most boring "still going" ARPG I've ever played. Man people's nostalgia goggles are so strong, and yes I also played and enjoyed it (to an extent) when it was new. You know a game is bad when people actively bot to farm a single item to actually make your class work. If it's not fun to actually play, why "play" at all?
D3 sucked ass stop making games cross play. For crap systems like ps and Xbox to play you have to dub down the game a bunch. Not only that they made it so even the dumbest of people could play this. With stats and talents being removed there is nother unique about your player. They are all the same and pretty much everyone uses the same spells. This game was so bad they ported it to the phone. After playing this and getting 2 or 3 high levels, the game gets extremely boring as there is nothing left to do. The 4 spells you get which most of them sucked is pretty lame. Not only that they keep listening to fans and making the game worse. Fans complained this game was too dark at first. So they decided well let's lighten it up a bit. Now people are complaining it was too light. People stfu and let them make a game.
As d4 is cross play I am going to say this game is going to suck as well since we have to dub it down for our poor little console players.
Ps get a real system ps and Xbox are not real systems.
D3 and especially items going into "check dps/main stat, if better, equip" every 20 minutes cause that's how often you tend to find better, but forgettable gear, is what basically made me not like this game at all.
That phrase you said about the game being good if it were a separate franchise and bad because it's actually a Diablo game is something that many people still struggle to understand to this day, great video keep it up! Also gj mentioning the importance of story and atmosphere
Is it worth to get it now? And we have d4 soon
First Diablo game.
All I felt like this game was is “mash button until thing dead. I diddnt bother doing much else either. I die, I press a button and respawn with no penalty, and keep standing in one spot attacking a boss that does nothing while I slowly chip away at its health.
not sure why story was addressed in such a way when it is largely static for all the diablo franchise
D3 is just plain fun. The complexity of D2 of character building isn't there but it's ok.
I will always remember Diablo 3 as the ARPG that had the most potential.
D3 als has the best feeling and most fluid combat of all ARPG's, at least in the midgame, where you move still relatively fast, but not at an insane speed that you can reach in the endgame.
D3 was the first Diablo game that I played with any seriousness but my interest petered out soon after my first Normal play-through (this was near launch–when I quit, they'd only recently closed the RMAH.) Now, since playing D2R for the last few weeks, I finally understand what the Old Heads were complaining about.
D2R is a revelation. I'm cautiously optimistic for D4 because it's the same Bliz Albany team that's made them both
I remember being excited for this one since I had played D2 religiously but ended up diving into torchlight2 and poe instead because they seemed more inspired
I appreciate the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy reference at the start 🙂
D2R on switch is the best thing in the universe
As someone who played 20 seasons and has something like 2500 hours in D3, I feel it's safe to say I can give my opinion on it. It's a fine/fun enough game. It can be really addicting. It makes you feel like a god. BUT it's like, once the veil was lifted, you know like in Wizard of Oz, it's like, the pointless hamster wheel of it all becomes so clear, and it really saps the enjoyment. Now don't get me wrong, I understand hamster wheel is part of the deal when it comes to games like Diablo. But in Diablo 1 and Diablo 2, the hamster wheel actually had a point. And there was actually a choice for you in how you wanted to hamster wheel. Diablo 3 forces you into one of 20 different boxes, tells you they're all different, when in actuality, they're all exactly the same and it may as well be just 1 box. Honestly, Diablo 3 isn't even really/truly a Diablo game, it isn't even really an ARPG as it has very little in the way of RPG. Don't even get me started on the whole story and aesthetic of the game, the ridiculous numbers, the ridiculous physics, etc. Anyways…once D2R came out, I uninstalled Diablo 3 and never looked back. I tried installing it and playing it once since then, I did 1 rift, and promptly uninstalled it again. It's just not even close to being on the same level as something like Diablo 2. Or even Diablo 1 for that matter. The only thing that would ever get me to play Diablo 3 again (as a filthy casual this time), is for them to implement the same controller support D2R has into D3, so I can be lazy and turn my brain off and start to drool as the flashiness and big numbers fry my brain.
Definitely the worst for me, tho I haven't played Immortal and that will probably take the dubious crown off D3 if I did. it's way too cartoony, overly stylised generic high fantasy esque setting and atmosphere ruined what a Diablo game ought to have been about. And also yes, the story was naff.
This game is amazing. I love playing a new character and immersing myself in the fun and fast pace of a new D3 character. I love D3 seasons and it left me wanting more from D2 seasons so I went back to D3.
This is the worst game period. This is not diablo this is was a massive flop. This was a 3/10
D3 got better as time went on, but even with that it got kinda old quickly. Every character plays out almost the same way…..get a set that focuses on a certain skill, get weapons that synergize, socket with perfect emerald, run rifts for better gear so you can do harder rifts for better gear so you can do harder rifts……..etc etc
I played Diablo when it released on pc then diablo 2 and lod. D3 I played but did not like it as it felt too restrictive on pathing and game play. D3 reminds me of immortal. I'm going to take a pass on 4 too as it looks like a flashier version of d3. D2 is the best!
D3 was anti-PvP, anti-PvE (co-op was meh, with 4 player max instead of 8) anti-trade, pay-to-win (only for a short time with auction house)
But the boss battles were fun, especially on HC… it was convenient to find a new cool item (ancients are cool) and be able to flex your build with the fluid skill system, the rift system: yes, can be grindy but it was at least some type of post end-game to keep you busy
I've played the PS3 port for D3 for years and found it an extremely fun couch coop experience, but it has so, so many features simply not there that I got hooked again when I got it for Switch (which is the full version). It's still very replayable, but that's 99,9% because of the ongoing release of seasons.
And while I do think it's a bit tiresome to have such malleable classes, with builds that you can assemble on the fly based on a single item drop, I do feel like D2 (which I adore) has a tradeoff that makes the endgame at least as boring as D3's. After all, once you clear hell difficulty or hit a snag on the progression, it's just farming the same area or enemies over and over again, with little to no variation. I recently made a Hammerdin on Resurrected and advancing on Act V became a grueling thing, and I realised I pretty much had to farm Chaos Sanctuary and the Travincal endlessly.
I've always found that D2 is great for trying new builds with some depth, which makes the ladder system interesting and fun (even if it's a mostly psychological "clean slate" rather than an actual one). So the replayability is there, I've been loving the new builds that only now, as an adult, I can assemble well and explore with their full potential. But, eventually, most characters get to a point in which they become simply less fun than starting over on a new build or class.
All in all, I think they're 2 very different games and I myself managed to enjoy both almost the same. And I'm happy with some of the D3 features that they seem to be bringing back to D4. So hoping that they can deliver the best game of the franchise.
This game sucks, yo.
If D4 is not very VERY different then it's probably Game Over for the Diablo franchise.
I played d3 before 2 so i may have a different outlook. D3 at first was good but i got bored quick. The D3 we know now is amazing due to all the updates the team has done. It just has a different feel than D2
When I first played the game : welcome to diablocraft especially the itemization. They could have stripped the game of items it would still be the same just find another idea to change the heroe's stats if you want a pure action game.
PS : reference : WoW and what became of it's items.
D3 felt like it was meant for consol. D2 feels like 3/4 of a real experience on console. If only they would add in keyboard support since the system itself supports said feature.
Reee, Alzorath!!! Reeeee!!!🤣🤣🤣
To me what makes a good Diablo game is atmosphere in keeping with the original, character building, grinding, and an available but not required online community, in that order.
D2 classic was my favorite. The release of LoD was good, too, but runewords/craftables essentially destroyed the purpose of rare/magic drops, and the ability for nonclass characters to use class specific skills was a mistake. It massively dumbed down the roles for certain classes in group efforts, particularly soras and babas. That said, I still count it as part and parcel of the best game. And D2R is the same. Reskins don't count as new games even if there are class changing updates.
Obviously D1 counts, but the gameplay and interface do show the game's age… And not being able to run faster is a stumbling block. As the first game in the franchise, it sets the tone/direction for what the franchise should be. It's still a good game– slow playing, but still better than D3.
D3 is a wonderful game. Great for casual play with friends on the couch, easy to pick up and just as easy to put down. There is not a lot of character building, more of grind and grind and grind to get gear that amplifies the cookie cutter skills that you've unlocked before even completing the campaign. It has some easter eggs that harken back to the other 2 games, but the atmosphere is just not there and feels more like Warcraft 3. I still enjoy it with my wife occasionally, but it definitely is not a Diablo game.
D4 has taken the crown from D3. We don't talk about D4.
For me its the Best Diablo Game.. lets go hate me xD
For me, D2 it is.
I played the first, i played the third, the only one i come back to is 2.
Well, now D2 Resurrected, but yes.
I think D3 was great! I played D2 so much and was disappointed at first with D3 but then played D3 with some friends, then D3 really shines! Trying to beat high greater rifts to get on the leaderboard with buddies is really a lot of fun!
D3 is a perfectly fine escapist power fantasy. If your goal is to blow off some steam with some flashy skills while mowing down hordes of monsters its a reasonable game, especially since the gameplay loop is less than 10m long. The issue is that since its basically a power fantasy the scaling had to be absurd to keep you feeling powerful, and as such there is no staying power to the progression system; we also see this trope in other mediums like Anime and is pretty indicative of the state of the world at large right now. Players who were built up to have loot be the reward system in D2 found nothing appealing about D3 and so years later there is very little crossover between communities.
Edit: I should have finished the video before posting, your second half covered this topic quite well and I agree with the assessment. 😀
