It sounds like they were trying to channel Grimoire Weiss with Cuff, but… really couldn't manage. Frey is part of a trend that really needs to stop. There are far better ways to write a strong female character.

A thorough and fair review of the demo. I really wanted to like this game! But like you said, it really just wanted to hurt me.
Perhaps I simply didn't find a setting for it, but I never did figure out how to quickly reset the camera. It especially made combat quite annoying.

I'm with you…I WANTED to love this game but the clunky controls and ungraceful and unfluid movement made me question. Love the characters and presentation, just don't think the gameplay will work for a game this size.🤷

Along with everything you mentioned, I really hated the music. Just way too Disney/children's fantasy for me. Reminds me alot of the soundtrack of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and I bounced off that game also. It's just too…. upbeat for the world. Combat is also clunky and by god the radial menus. Square has come out and said that the actual game is going to be much different and this was just a vertical slice not representative of the final game but… well see. I've got little hope for AAA titles as of late.
It’s animation led, meaning that animations finish before you can do a new action. Thus it feels sluggish… Not a fan of it
I already called it to my own friends: '23 will be the year of every pushed 70$ pushed AAA bad titles – once again "modern" gaming & corporate greed rules. If you plan to keep preordering games like these, YOU are the reason they bump prizes. You have to be strong guys: an awful experience at launch is you hurting yourself.
Totally agree about everything you said and when she ran it was like weights on her legs, maybe if they put her more of gliding like flying with less steps it would be better. Also having to switch with the wheel between spells in the demo in most fights just took me out of the fight. I wanted it to flow but it didn’t. I hope the actual game is a lot better then demo

The blind herd of sheep following phenomenon is strong with this one. I enjoyed the demo: the world, the movement, the combat and the banter.
If there is good exploration and the combat system is good, then I can live with the dialogue. Definitely going to wait for the game to be out for a week or two before buying
Played the demo. Thought it was bad.
– World is empty & bland. Looks like it was made with some random Unreal asset pack.
– Combat & controls arent good. Very basic combat & UI is bad.
– Characters seem bland also.
No idea why they would release this in its state. Needs at least another year & some better devs.
