That is not the main factor by any means. Obviously it’s the writing dialogue and puzzle design, combat variety built into the open world. But yea maybe this 40 second rule helps as well

-everyone is a polite robot there is no life ,there is no conflict where's Malfoy type of guy
-Ranrok is C-tier student movie villain
-both main and side quests are some of the worst in any RPG
-the open world activities are collect clown costumes ,collect flying books ,pop baloons while flying on your broom ,awful bowling copy , 200 puzzles with same pattern put rocks in place so that they activate mechanism
its more of a 5 second rule for this game. I was annoyed by how easily you will get sidetracked by a bunch of stuff lying around the world. The amount of distraction is just too much for my taste. The game throws you a million point of interests but the rewards are meh. Gearing progression could also do some work. I was upgrading my gears every 5 minutes. It was only until around 28-34 that I started getting gears that are worth keeping for a long time. I never explored the caves. What really motivated me to finish the game is the combat. It was so satisfying, fun, and simple.
Usually I feel as though I HAVE to complete the game I’m playing after 20 or so hours. But in this case, I WANT to. And I don’t want it to be anytime soon!!

There's so much of game design that's just invisible to players and the community at large. The fact that devs go into this much consideration for even the most minute of details gives credence to the fact that game developers are magicians in their own right.
this is pretty much what I thought the moment I started playing this game I was just amazed how much shit there was to do which in terms of things to do to how much this game was worth at launch is actually pretty worth while.
the biggest issue I have with the game is once you open up the bottom right section of the map you start to feel a little over whelmed (or at least I did) with content that is more or less the same thing you did before.

I just find Hogwarts Legacy so fun due first bcz I'm a die hard fan of the Wizarding World so everything offered becomes content I'm ready to take in, I hate to fast travel cz when I mark an objectif if I fly with a broom I do almost all the side quests until I reach it, I could be looking for a animal to breed for money the stumble upon a lot of point of interest which makes me even forget my objectif, I love that as long as the point of interest are not repetitive. So far I find hogwarts legacy hard to get bored while playing it. I mean I could spend 10 mins breeding all my creators & taking care of them without thinking of doing the main objectif or maybe I'm just in love with the game that I don't want it to end.
I’m pretty sure far cry 5 had a five second rule because that game had so much chaos at every corner so much happening all at once as you’re walking through the environment, birds attacking badgers attacking bears attacking Deers attacking fish attacking I think…enemies attacking animals attacking enemies, enemies attacking civilians, there were so much in that game. This all makes sense on why I get so invested in these kinds of games.
