My cat is fed a raw diet including raw bones and has very clean teeth.
My ragdoll cats are 3-yrs old and I just started brushing their teeth with a microbrush and cat toothpaste. I don't do it every day but rather 3-times a week – Mon, Wed, Fri. Initially, they would skirm, but now they sit and tolerate it and as a reward, I give them a treat afterward (which they love).
What’s your thoughts on Oxyfresh dental water additive?
I brush my cats & they rub their teeth along the bristles 👍🏻🕊️
Use a mishwak stick on cats teeth
5:45 is just showing you cats eating and eating causes plaque.. following?
If somebody has one or two test, they can certainly do it

Jackson, you are the one that’s what me cats think and that’s how I learned to train them. I trained my cats to have their toothbrush every day and they love it.
You do not have to get the cats down on the ground to brush their teeth. If any animal behavior. My cat jumps through hoops and has been trained to do all kinds of things. We have to have the patience to train them.
About seven it becomes absolutely impossible not to brush them. You can cost yourself a fortune they can get impact the teeth, root canals, all kinds of things they have to pull their teeth if your cat is eating raw it’s different and they’re eating bones and all the things they used to eat if you keep your test and if he’s in test food, you have to brushthere’s evidence that for all of three years old because I always know that I have to start at seven

Dental trauma is awful 😢 my baby had a broken root and couldn’t eat.thanks to my vet she is now pain free❤
Our Angelica is prone to dental disease. She had resorptive lesions and had 6 teeth extractions.
She begs to have her teeth brushed. Cutest thing ever. She will try to grab the toothbrush and brush them herself. I just put the cat toothpaste on it and hold it for her and she just goes at it. It has strengthened our bond. She’s going in for a routine dental. As for my other cats, no dental issues and they won’t let me brush so I just don’t. It’s unfair to them. And they are both fine. So i agree with this.
After trying 2 different types of toothbrushes and 1 wipe, ryercat made things so much EASIER.
It's expensive, $20 for 2, but so much cheaper compared to dental cleanings.
It's so tiny and great. My "worst" cat for teeth brushing has become so much easier.
Cats don't like their teeth brushed because the brushes are GIANT.
Truly life changing.
In the PM, I use my 360* brush and I put coconut oil on it and let them lick/bite it off. So easy and they see it as a treat.
I will try rubbing his cheeks to get him used to dental drops. Cross fingers.
Strangely enough, I find clipping my cat’s nails a breeze, but when it comes to brushing, it's a whole different story! 😅
Not sure about your cat, but once you try to brush a cat's teeth and it isnt a pleasant experience (have to start young), they know and will run and hide. Cats are very perceptive. They will always be suspicious after that. Our cat is that way with everything; medication, etc.
vet costs too much money and its only going to get more expensive… dammit!
i never brushed my cats teeth, but she has tooth resoprtion and needs to get 4 teeth pulled. The vet said cause unknown and no way to prevention ??? is this true
Mine has no problem with brushing, nail clipping, or ear cleaning. Brushing teeth= not possible. He doesn't become aggressive but wiggles in a way that is impossible to hold him, let alone brush his teeth. I feel horrible and guilty about the lack of dental care I provide, but it's not that I haven't tried. His teeth look good, though, and are without any problems. I wish they would invent a better way.
Posting as my cat who hates teeth cleaning 🙁
We have never brushed out cat's teeth. Yes, I know we are awful cat owners. I have recently noticed 2 out of 3 of our cats' breath is really horrible. What is the best stuff to get as far as a cat toothpaste and will it help with the breath issue too?
My vet recommended teeth cleaning for the first time this year. I remember telling my parents about it before but they were out off by the idea until I explained to them that they were just as susceptible to dental health issues as we were.
My cat tolerates it from me and forgives me soon after but definitely doesn't like the procedure but she's not a big wriggler, she'll let me gently but firmly expose her back teeth and tolerate me brushing the outside as instructed by the vet.
She's not a fan of the current flavour. I'm hoping the next brand I try will be to her liking.
I try and pair her teeth brushing with mine. Because I'm not great at doing my own teeth. So combining the routine with hers is helpful.
Its so hard to find a toothbrush that is usable… anyone got any advice??!
This is so reassuring. I adopted my first ever cat a few months ago (2 year old black cat), first vet visit the other day and he asked if I was brushing her teeth. And I asked should I be?! And he said yes daily! At the moment we can't even trim her claws at home because she's still a little skittish, so the concept of trying to do her teeth is concerning me. Plus the reason I took her to the vets for them to do her claws was because she and I are still getting familiar with each other, and I didn't want to rush into manhandling her with this stuff too quickly. At the moment I'm doing my best to respect her space and let her understand she can come to me for affection, I don't wanna be the person chasing her around to trim her claws or stick a brush in her mouth, and I fear if I only try and do these things when she approaches me, she'll just stop approaching me.
She's getting a lot more confident and familiar so I guess I'll buy some cat toothpaste and just see what her thoughts are about it. Maybe she'll surprise me and LOVE it. But thanks Jackson for easing my fears! The vet saying I should be doing it daily made me feel real guilty.
Here bc my (newly adopted stray) cat’s breath smells if I don’t brush every day lol 😔 vet said her teeth are really healthy so far bc she’s young, and I don’t want to ruin that for her by giving her gum disease or rotting teeth. She’s getting better about brushing but it still sucks. An edible kitty mouthwash that safely kills bacteria would be great.
I just got both my 16 year old cats back from having all their teeth extracted. We are serving soft foods and healing well. We had been getting annual teeth cleanings, but iflamation came on fast and strong. It hurt them to eat.
Thanks for your info. Sounds logical .
What sort of bone would be adviseable ? 🤔
I know of nobody here in the netherlands trimming a cats nails, unless very old and not keeping their nails in check by themself.
I bought a cat toothbrush. He won’t let me. I don’t know if it’s the toothpaste, but even with the brush alone, he won’t really let me put it in his mouth. Sometimes he goes to bite it like a toy.
My vet told me that cats don’t need to brushing there teeth 🦷, they dont have the same problems that dogs have , so he toLd me that if you can do it if you can dont, and thoof paste have glucose, so one more reason not to
im getting a kitten later this month and why do i feel like ill brush her teeth more than my own XD
My vst told me to just weap a piece of guaze ayound my finger to brush my 17 years old kitty. Im going to try to do thst every day. ❤️😻😍
Jackson, do you have any advice on fear of putting my cat under anesthesia for dental? I'm scared of the risks.
Two main problems with this not mentioned? Time. I have 5 cats. I don't have the time or energy to be rounding up/chasing down 5 cats every day to wrestle with them to brush their teeth. Even if it was easy and they enjoyed it it still amounts to a lot of time and energy. Professional cleaning? Cost. I don't have a spare $200-$400 – per cat – to get their teeth professionally cleaned once a year. Dental care, don't feed them this or that or the other thing. It all starts to get insane – and insanely expensive too. It's great to try and help animals out – wild or domesticated – but there are limits to what you can do and what you can afford and no one should feel guilty or stressed because they aren't doing more, or more especially, spending more.
I honestly find the whole pet industry pretty infuriating. So much marketing is created to create fear and guilt by not spending top dollar on your precious "fur babies". And most of it is just gouging. Explain to me why buying a human grade bone broth for cats runs $10-$15 on average for the same thing that costs a human $2-$3 in the grocery store. Raw goat milk? $10-$15 in the pet store. Pasteurized goat milk in the grocery store – $3-$4. And less processed food costs less to produce and they charge more for it!!! Why is a can of chicken and broth $4-$5 when I can make the same thing at home using chicken thighs and some broth for less than $1 for the same portion of food?
I want my cats to have a good life but I'm not going to be guilted into spending every minute and every dime I have on them in order to facilitate that. Most of us don't even do that for ourselves so why should our pets be any different? Into every life some rain must fall.
Give them a bunch of dental treats every day and try to brush once a week. Best plan I can think of. My cat hates brushing and nail clipping so much, it’s a fight every time
Thanks for your advice. I will just take them to yearly cleanings 🙂
I brush their teeth twice a day. One sits on the counter and the other waits at my ankles for their turn while I brush my own teeth twice a day. I am planning to start a Youtube channel just to share their teeth brushing lol!
I like the advice you give us and thank you for that. I dont understand doe why some of your advices go against vetenarians who have done studies in cats health. I find it misleading. Also, you didnt mention how expensive it is to get your cats cheked regurarly. Most cat owners dont have that money and are more in need of preventive cat care products to limit the health bill.
The very back small teeth that can't be seen..how do I brush them without annoying the cat very quickly?
I just taped a toothbrush to a cabinet at the right height and my one cat brushed his own teeth lol. Works with a hairbrish too so they can brush themselves when you're gone.
The only realistic video around brushing teeth everyday. Thanks for being honest and real!❤❤❤❤❤❤
