As an oh marathon fan. I don't care about this one.
But it is gonna hurt the reputation of the franchise.
Do not be fooled by this being "Marathon" and being "made by bungie" let Destiny and Destiny 2 be a lesson to all… this is not the same Bungie that made the og Marathon games and halo series.
Saw the in game footage and this game appears to lack any significant features or groundbreaking elements, and is not tied to the Marathon Universe at all! They just took the name from a great retro game. Extraction shooter genre is a niche and it's definitely not for me.

I haven’t been burned by bungie because last bungie game I played was halo ODST. Never cared for destiny, and never played an extraction shooter but always wanted too. So since its all new to me, I have no expectations. Il judge it for what it is on release, and tbh the art style is right up my alley.

It's not similar to tarkov because it's in the same general genre. Being similar to tarkov would be having realistic extraction shooter with realistic weapons, gunplay and kill time. No Bungie game will ever have those things, they will always have a silly slow time to kill and unrealistic abilities

When it comes to making video games that have ‘feeling.’ Bungie still makes excellent music, stellar visuals, has better community engagement and has output more comprehensive lore than Halo Studios (still 343i). Yes, they may have issues with leadership and their monetization practices.
