I’ve got this game two times now. Once on PS4 and now on PS5. It’s incredible. I’ve already got 35 hours in it and I’m on new game plus with new skins. It’s worth it.
I feel the same way as to what they said in the remake.
This is perfect for anyone who has never played it. But if you own the remastered version then no need to get this.
If I buy this it better not become a free game in like a month on ps plus 😂😂
black friday £30 ill buy it
£60 … ive got the ps4 remaster and havent played it all (1hour)
just cant stomach paying 3 times for a game
3 times if its "half" price not so bad at all
see you when you come down in price last of us
I've got it but only because I never platinum the game
Anyone who has playstation plus, even the lowest tier, has The last of us remastered FOR FREE!!!!!!!!!! Why buy it….. dont really get it.
There are absolutely no gameplay changes. Not worth $70+. Keep in mind the remastered version is free on PSN and runs at 60fps on PS5. That’s your best route. 💯
Thank you for your opinion.I was going to buy I think I’ll wait for the sale
The only thing that would convince me to buy this….yet again…..would be the ability to play this portably (& at a deep discount of course.)
Even the worst version of the original game is vastly better than the abomination that was the sequel.
Zoe and Ian real reviews… I FUCKING LIVE FOR THIS…
I am a bit torn heh, I am a huge fan, but I have already done its previous incarnations…basically if I catch it on sale but I do not need it on release, I mean I already have the remaster but next time I feel like going through it again I might look into this
For those who purchased and played this on the PS3 and PS4 Remastered. I can see why it's bs to buy it again for a 3rd time.
But I started out on the PS4 Remastered version and I'm happy to play this on PS5. But I'm not buying it again if they do this for the PS6….
"Sike"
I lied. I'm a sucker for high quality graphics haha.
I'm truly happy to hear how people are saying that they're gonna wait buying this game until there's at least a 50% price drop. It's really just bad practice from Sony to advertise this game as a 'remake' and asking 70,- dollars for it. The music, gameplay, script, voice acting and what not has already been created so absolutely nothing can justify the ridiculous price they're asking for it.
Let's take these "well, don't buy it then" comments to heart and indeed vote with our wallets, so that this type of bs won't become a habit. The gaming industry has already become greedy enough over the years with their in-game purchases and loot crates. Let's not add an overpriced 'remaster', cause that's what this really is, to the list.
I'll preface this with the fact that i AM one of those people that absolutely loves TLOU, i would consider myself a super fan, but as beautiful as the remake looks, i am definitely not buying it until it's less than 25 quid. If they had included any new game content at all i would immediately fork over, even if it was a 15 min side quest. I mean, they were already rebuilding stuff anyway…but yeah, i completely agree with you, it just isn't enough.
They could’ve added part II gameplay mechanics, like dodge, hiding in grass, and etc. this isn’t worth 70+tax like seriously
They recycle it 3 or more times and price it higher than the original? That's chutzpa. Hope there aren't enough people dumb enough to buy it to make this cash grab successful.
I found the gameplay extremely boring in the original and gave up on it.
I will probably buy it on sale in like a year, lol. I bought it twice and beat it like 3-4 times already. It’s one of my favorites, but I don’t want to pay $70 for a paint job (basically).
Does it have multiplayer?
This remake looks awesome but improved graphics and mainly quality of life improvements don’t justify a full new game price of $70. Sony is charging more for this remake than they did when the game came out as an original game back in 2013 and this remake is more than the price Last of Us part 2 was sold for! Both of those being original with way more work being done to them. I’d rather pay full price for a brand new game/story like God of War Ragnarok.
I won’t argue the masterpiece that last of us is but the asking price for this remake makes it only a recommendation for first time players or those that will come after the HBO series which is great for them but this could’ve been an EASY recommendation to EVERYONE if the asking price from Sony/Naughty Dog was $40, maybe $50.
Big fan of TLOU but I'll only be buying this when it's sub £30. As I'm sure will many.
I'm getting it day one. All I needed to see was a visual upgrade and I was sold.
If it drops in price I will get it eventually, I cannot afford to spare 65 pounds on something that I have played on PS3, PS4 and PS4 pro. Plus no factions, I loved the multiplayer. I know they are working on a standalone multiplayer, but at least they could have done a 1 for 1 copy of the game here and something different for the standalone
Rrp for this in Australia is $125…. cheapest in store price is a limited of time $98. So no, absolutely not paying that for an old game lol it's a slap in the face to fans ,or any consumer really and also publishers/devs of other games .the amount of time and money put into this is not comparable to making a brand new game. Yet they think it's OK to charge a brand new price, this only makes sense for die hard fans that don't mind wasting money. Or people that have somehow managed to avoid playing this, and even then…just buy the ps4 remaster for a far cheaper price or wait for a big price drop. Don't give more incentive to Sony to keep ripping people off. This is the worst case yet
This will sell great on the PC. PS players will buy this mostly when it's on sale.
Why can't they use the time to make sometihing new, like new story and game play, this is just like the ps4,this is like replaying the game again ,totally crap
Watch the Digital Foundry comparison to get a real respect for what the developers did to TLOUP1
£16.45 for the PS4 remaster…..and £65 is an offer, it should be £69
Now had sony offered a upgrade path…..say £20? or £39?
I think we are thinking the work put into to to remaster isn't a £70 amount of work, but £39?
Bottom line is that this £69 if because of the PC version, and this version was just a side goal of the PC port…
The irony that they added accessibility options but the price made the game inaccessible to most of us.
I think I'm pretty much in the wait for a sale camp.
I like new shinies, but I don't need this new shiny. I'm currently busy with another game.
Otherwise, I probably would have gotten it.
Thanks. Never played it and it looks intriguing. I don’t have the time sadly unless you can wean me off GTAO which is like a drug for some reason
I really appreciate how honest they are about their feelings on if this game is worth it or not. I am a massive fan of the series and have it pre ordered because I am impatient but $75 after taxes for the base edition is a lot to ask for what appears to be primarily just a visual upgrade. If they had added dodging and prone or some more of the gameplay upgrades from part 2 it might be worth it…but unless your an super impatient massive fan of the series just wait till it’s on sale for Christmas holidays.
This video was timed well with Ellen's scolding of Ubisoft. Remastered money grab and no multi-player included. Companies really love shooting themselves in the foot trying to make money.
I think it's worth it if you've never played / owned the game before. Why wouldn't you buy the best possible version in that case? However, I agree that for those people who have experienced at least the remastered ps4 version of the game, it is hard to justify 70-80e or whatever the price is. Unless you are a super fan or just collector.
The good thing about a high price is that it'll inevitably come down over time. It's a massive barrier (and I won't be buying it at the launch price) but I'd rather that, than it be a lesser-improved version for half the price. The game looks phenomenal and it'll be the "right" price in less than a year, probably.
GAME aren't even asking £65 for it, it was the full £70 in store yesterday. For a game that cost £40 in 2013 and that version had multiplayer.
I'll definitely be picking it up but I think I'm going to hold off until it goes on sale
I've never played it before, and am interested, but I'll probably wait for price to drop.
New adventure for Joel and ellie together 🎇
The first one was "meh" and the second one was SUPER "meh" so I won't be buying this. Not a lot of people will either just for the fact that TLoU did zombies wrong and became just another zombie game despite people overhyping it to death back in the day
Ultimately, what's going on here is that they're soon to launch a major prestige television series that will assuredly bring in new players, and they want to put their best foot forward with the game. They'd be thrilled to get past players back again, of course, and I especially applaud the accessibility improvements, but really, for the "we already bought this on two platforms" crowd, this release is not for us.
I can see the appeal, but this re-release isn't for me. The original PS3 version was a unique and heavy experience; I just don't feel any urge to re-live that, even with a new coat of graphical paint.
I feel like this is aimed more at those that are completely new to TLOU and I assume when the tv show is released there will be a lot of people discovering it for the first time.
I will definitely wait for a price drop. It lookd good tho wish gameplay was more alike part 2 (gameplay wise of course)
It might have justified the price if they had bring back the multiplayer
Great game. Bought it twice, played it three times so I have no pressing need to buy it again, especially at that price. It will come to the Extra/Premium game catalogue in about a year anyway. I'll play it again then if it does.
If I need to play it again, I'll do the remaster. but I'll keep an eye on the sales just in case
