I actually think Chris Pratt is the right choice for Mario, or anyone really. Mario actually never really spoke a complete sentence in the games, it is either "mama mia", "so long Bowser", "Let's a go", or "Here we go", of the few times he did spoke complete sentences, it was gibberish.
Those "complete sentences" is in Mario & Luigi games, but we don't really understand Mario or Luigi until another character translates it.
and speaking of which, Mario & Luigi would be a fun storyline to bring to the movies, one of the few times Bowser was the anti-hero against a much greater evil, especially Bowser Inside Story

I'm betting that Mario will make some sort of physical change by the end of the movie that will get even closer to game design, so that everyone will be happy.

Mario, visually? Confusing. It's Mario but at the same time it… isn't? He looks weird but I can't really point out why. The eyebrows are not as curved as they are in the games, that's the only thing I can think of from the top of my head.
The voice? Chris sounds almost bored or apathic during the trailer. When Mario gets spooked, he doesn't grunt or make any sound at all, not even when he falls down on his butt. The French version actually grunts at that part and it makes a huge difference.
Will I watch the movie? Yes, once it comes out on Blu-Ray or on Streaming service (since I'm unable to go to a movie theatre atm). Will I enjoy it? Yes, more than likely. Will I get over Mario and his voice? Most likely not. Who knows, I might opt watching the French version and use subtitles if I feel that it gives a better overall "immersion" to Mario's franchise.

The cgi is amazing. Likely the movie was japanese first. Voice acting is off because of that. But the creator of Mario bros. (Mario 1,2,3 and world at least that I Kno, maybe even sm64) that we all enjoyed also made this movie. So we can't go wrong there

You know, I don't feel like Mario has to look exactly the same as he does in the games. There's a distinct difference in design, but I think it's very recognizable as Mario and will probably be great for its purpose!
They better have a good plot. Hoping better than Sonic because those movies really suck. Hard to be worse than the original Mario movie. Have you seen the original live action Mario film!?!?!?
I like Charles, but thing is…. most of his dialogue as the titular Mario are the equivalence of Legend of Zelda's Link. Mostly Onomatopoeia, for better or worse.
Mario got his "talking voice" from the early 90's Cartoon, like it or not, unlike Luigi, who strangely enough seems to stay consistent, though he started out kinda sounding like a mobster…… So in the end, despite all the pissing and moaning, Chris seems to be emulating that 90s cartoon voice with a lot less rasp.
Everything was awesome in that trailer except Mario for me. Mario looks good (better than average, except his butt ;P), but the voice, oh man, it hit me like a truck how unfitting it was for this character 🙁
Hopefully the movie doesn't get hate because of nostalgia giving people a bias over mario's old and movie voice. I personally think it will be great (his face is a bit odd tho)
I didn't think Jack Black fit Big B's voice at all (I say Hit the Road, Jack 😂😂); reminds me of Mario sunshine actually, where the dude was trying too hard (kind of hard not to, but somehow Kenny James just does it perfectly). But hey, Mario also grew up in the Mushroom Kingdom as evidenced by multiple games, as well as other things that are uncharacteristic of the series, so I'm just putting it out there that this movie is its own canon; anyone that has it probably that can cry about it
In my opinion I think Chris Pratt will do an AWESOME job as Mario! Regardless if Mario’s voice isn’t the one we all have come to know and love I’m a huge fan of Chris Pratt! Jack Black as Bowser definitely was the perfect fit!
the only compliment i can give it currently is that jack black as bowser was a fantastic choice. i have nothing negative besides chris pratt as mario because he literally does not know how to voice act and so just talks. all in all, i say that this movie is an animated movie, and it will perform.
