i still feel like David created(recreated) the xenomorph, and he needed more humans to make the xenomorph as explained in alien convenant(with the captain he states he ran out of bodies)tricks captain and gets him killed with facehugger and then the first xenomorph we see in that series of movies. when the xenomorph is born in convenant he does the same posse as in the mural in Prometheus; as xenomorph comes out of captains chest(creating the perfect being that was possibly worshipped by engineers)i know the mural is of a deacon but could it be a Xenomorph???. After the events of Prometheus he experiments on Dr. Shaw and probably some survivors of the attack on the planet. David creates the sacks to hold the face hugger until a host is around. I am strictly going off the movies. We never see a Xenomorph until end of convenant, this also fits the timeline…..then the original Alien movie, we have sacks and face huggers and Xenomorph, and queen.
When David takes over the colony ship in covenant, he has more bodies, probably a queen and more hosts. It also fits into Romulus as well, as the face huggers are grown with a machine(they are kept frozen until there is a breach). This could have been explained in another David movie; creating more xenomorphs and sending them all over the galaxy. He wanted to be a god and be a creator; much like Mr Weyland was to him…..I really hope they do one more movie with David to tie this all in.
My theory is that Shaw wasnt impregnated by her husband, but she was infected. Her husband simply passed the black goo to her as well but the outcome for them is different because of the following:
The black goo is a strong mutagen but its never been depicted as able to transform a human into a xenomorph or anything like it, but it is able to mutate a human embryo/fetus. Maybe its to do with the presence of stem cells in fetus and lack of such in an adult.
So when black goo is ingested by adult male, it mutate him in horrible way but not sufficient to create a new alien form. Also if you ingest enough of it , the mutation is so strong the thermal activity is enough to incinerate the host (we see this with engineer drinking a whole cup of it and all those people david dump a huge amount of virus on). Incidentally this is how virus bomb work in Warhammer 40K.
But jf the black goo find stem cells, it will birth a whole new life form: the trilobyte from shaw (who probably have eggs in her ovary), the pregnant girl from alien covenant who birthed an alien instead.
This theory doesnt match with the birth of the backbuster though, but its arguable that david did something extra to that strain
So much that we are yet to learn so many questions.
In Alien RPG, we get Archdeacon
I heard someone relating a story from the art director/directors of Prometheus who said The Deacon on the wall was just a nod to H.R. Giger. I've always thought it would be counter intuitive for Engineers to be worshiping something so inherently and mindlessly hostile. Seems against their Way.
The comments are saying the deacon???? The deacon was completely unique under a circumstance in the movie Prometheus. David gave the bioweapon to Elizabeth, causing her to have that huge face hugger that she cut out of herself. When the engineer attacked Elizabeth, the huge face hugger attached itself to the engineer, thus creating the deacon. That couldn't have happened without David doing what he did, and it can’t happen without a human host and an engineer host; there’s only one deacon.
Whast fucking movie is this? Prometheus or prometheus 2? I dont remember this shit in 1
one thing that confuses me is that if the deacon came from shaws black goo pregnancy then a trilobite to engineer, how did the first one come about? was there a common ancestor that made the engineers the way they made us?
I wish prometheus and Covenant never happened, they both have very intriguing but half backed hazy ideas that go absolutely nowhere, answer 0 questions, paose more questions and confusion than ever regarding the Alien universe.
I thought “The deacon” species created the engineers, and the engineers tried re create them but created xenomorphs instead.
If the deacon returned I’d like to see them explore the original concept of xenomorphs becoming more civilized beings after they initially are born and molt into their fully grown state. Imagine a space crew encountering an adult deacon with roughly fashioned clothes and with intelligence matching or even surpassing the engineers themselves
I thought the deacon was the critter on the mural whose blood the engineers used to propagate their species. The vicious creature at the end of Prometheous is of a different kind. He comes from the engineered blood, the black goo when the engineers ran out of the original deacon's blood.
I like the idea of the Deacon becoming an entire mountain and an essential rebirth of life on the once dead planet, really gives credence to the name Prometheus
i dont think a human is needed for the deacon
Get a life!
I'd like to see More of it
Why did Ridly have to make something completely new. What you made before was ten times better
The deacon wasn’t intended as an ancestor to the xenomorph, all it was meant to illustrate was that the pathogen will inevitably lead towards a xeno-like organism
It’s never alluded to in any way that the deacon can even reproduce, but if it can then maybe generations of infection and birth COULD lead to the stereotypical xenomorph, but it’s not the point of the deacon to confirm that, it’s only purpose in the film is to show that the pathogen will steer towards a specific set of characteristics regardless of vector
I want it to appear as a smarter creature less overly-aggresive ,able to manipulate and use strategy on an unprecedent scale
So predators can solo most xenos. Engineers can solo a predator. I really felt like the engineer should have been given a better foght scene with the trilobyte
Alien Theory > Star Wars Theory
A lot of theory is just theory. When people post these wild guesses to the series without actual documentation especially non canon comic books and some scribblings of some super fan.
i love all alien renditions except the big baby skull face alien that one was bad
What I dislike about this (and much of Prometheus )is that it doesn't feel like a Giger design.
