Rock Guai does literally nothing. I either can’t even get close to him because he dodges away, or his bird swoops in and de-transforms me immediately. I have no idea how every time you use it he just stands perfectly still waiting to be attacked.
You took the longer route to defeat him. You can actually use the fan at least four times if you keep using the spinning staff technique to deflect Erlang’s sword attacks instead of relying on cloud step or dodging. This method instantly boosts your mana, letting you reuse the fan more quickly. Also, when Erlang is immobilized, attacking with the spinning staff will increases your mana even further, you can also use the bat freezing transformation to freeze him again when his sword hasn't regenerated and repeat the spinning staff technique attack again
Finally beat him with this build but I will add a few things a noticed that may havd been patched in: I couldn't run in as far in as seen here I had to use the fan right at the after the stairs. Any further in and I kept getting caught in a scripted event. When using Azure Dust transformation, he would sometimes turn into a bird and cancel out the transformation so there is some RNG there. I found using it when he's trapped against the invisible ball seems to lessen the chances of him doing so.

How come everyone else’s erlang just slow walks to them but as soon as I enter the arena he starts his first attack
I don’t get this games where they make the bosses extremely hard to defeat whatever I will try can’t defeat this boss I don’t think i even what to purchase the DLC
Idk what I am missing… I have tried build after build after build…. Probably over 40 attempts now, no luck getting passed 50% of his health. not even close. I make it to the 3rd phase every time, but I have nothing to use at that point.

I just recently beat the whole game erlang shen is harder than wukong if you have any trouble I would suggest using the ring of fire and just maximizing it and also get sunrise if the skie or your gourd make sure the smash stance is level to where it get 4 focus point those the tips that helped like shit for me to win

I didn't defeat the venom daoist the right way I guess so I don't have the embroidered shirt of rage or whatever to go with the rest of the Yaksha gear. 😢

You can fight Erlang after you collect wu kongs armor set before the last boss
This fight ruined the whole game for me. Beating him is entirely luck as he can choose to just say No to all the mechanics of the game at any time. I beat every boss with ease through the whole game. I couldn't figure out why people said it was so hard then got to this guy and have been stuck since. At keast an hour a day almost every day a week for over a month and nothing. These youtube vids don't ever seem to help but thanks for the vid will give a try.
