Who Is Xenk Yendar In Dungeons and Dragons Honor Among Thieves

In the movie, he used the Oath of Devotion's Channel Divinity [Sacred Weapon] against Dralas (the leader of the Thayan assassins) which reads as follows:

Sacred Weapon: As an action, you can imbue one weapon that you are holding with positive energy, using your Channel Divinity. For 1 minute, you add your Charisma modifier to attack rolls made with that weapon (with a minimum bonus of +1). The weapon also emits bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light 20 feet beyond that. If the weapon is not already magical, it becomes magical for the duration.

You can end this effect on your turn as part of any other action. If you are no longer holding or carrying this weapon, or if you fall unconscious, this effect ends.

They initially planned on having Drizzt Do'Urden play that role in the movie, but weren't allowed to use him, so they created Xenk.
Thing is though, there is a pre-existing Forgotten Realms character that is much better suited for that role than either Drizzt or Xenk, and was even mentioned in the movie. Aoth Fezim. Edgin briefly mentions the time they stole the spear of Aoth Fezim (how the fuck they pull that off?)

Aoth Fezim is a Thayan Warmage (he wields Spear in combination with combat magic) and Griffon Rider, and the arch nemesis of Szass Tam. He foiled many of Szass Tam's plans (including the Ritual of Unmaking), and is one of the only people to have fought Szass Tam toe to toe and survive (albeit Aoth did have to flee).
Aoth also has a prolonged lifespan due to his exposure to the Spellplague. He has a spellscar that manifests as blue fire in his eyes, which also grants him permanent Truesight and vision keener than a Griffon's. The last story that featured Aoth, was during the Spellplague era, there has been no Sundering-era stories of him yet.

I liked the character. At least he's not Drizzt 😅

When thinking of the backstory of my half-drow paladin while playing the early access version of Baldur's Gate 3, I decided to make his mentor Xenk himself.
